APRIL 14, 2026—Active, Busy, And Lonely

Active, Busy, And Lonely

Luke 10:40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

Poor Martha, she felt like many who serve the Lord have felt at times. Nobody is helping me. Nobody cares. Nobody sees the work that needs to be done. I’m all alone. God, why don’t you make them help me?

Well, there is a lot of apathy toward the work of the Lord today; that is true. Yet sometimes we miss the best by doing the good. We begin to look at the work more than we look at the one we are working for. We get our eyes off the Saviour and on our labor. Doing the work of the Lord is necessary. However, doing the work and forgetting why is exhausting. At times, we must stop, rest in His arms, and reconnect with Him before we move on. When we do, we realize we are never alone; Jesus is always with us and always helping.

APRIL 13, 2026—Is Your Name Written Down?

Is Your Name Written Down?

Luke 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Luke 10:1 says that Jesus sent out seventy disciples to tell people He was coming. To validate who they were and who sent them, He gave them power to cast out demons and heal the sick. Their purpose, as is ours today, was to tell people of Jesus’ soon coming.

When they got back, all they could talk about was the demons running from them. In Luke 10:20, Jesus says, Don’t be so surprised that demons flee from you. I gave you that power when you left. If you want to marvel at something, rejoice that your name is written in the book of life. That is truly the bigger miracle. People get all excited over signs and wonders when the greatest miracle of all time is the fact that Jesus saved us from our sin, and our names are written down in Heaven.

APRIL 11 & 12, 2026—Shame Shame

Shame Shame

Luke 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.

Some people act as if they are better than everyone else. They walk around with their nose in the air and look down on all those around them. You know that person, right? Now, imagine you are about to marry this person, and that is how they treat you. Everyone around you can see how terribly they treat you. How embarrassing. Most people will feel bad for you and dislike the prideful one for their attitude. The shame they meant for you turns out to be a shame on them.

Jesus said, If you are ashamed of me before your friends, you will cause me to be embarrassed for you in front of my Father and the angels. Our vanity and pride on earth turn to become humiliation in heaven. Jesus wants to show us off as a bride who completely adores Him. Not to be embarrassed by our arrogance.

APRIL 10, 2026—Enough For Today

Enough For Today

Luke 9:17 And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.

For the most part, people are planners. I must admit, I am a planner too. I plan everything. At this stage of life, I am thinking of plans for the day I leave this world to be with the Lord. I do not want my departure to be a burden on those left behind. The Bible encourages us to plan and prepare. However, there are times we just need to be happy with what God provided today.

Jesus does not always promise to tell us what lies ahead. He does, however, say He will never leave us nor forsake us. We may not always see His hand of provisions for the weeks and months ahead, but He always seems to provide enough for today and, most often, a little extra.

APRIL 9, 2026—Giggle All You Want

Giggle All You Want

Luke 8:53-55 And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.

People love to laugh. However, occasionally people laugh at what they do not understand. As believers, we are sometimes laughed at for our walk with God. When we give our tithe, stop to pray, and live our lives by faith, those who do not enjoy the indwelling of the Holy Spirit do not understand, so they may laugh.

They laughed at Jesus when He said, “weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.” Why did they laugh? Because they did not understand the power God has even over our most serious enemy, death. There will be a day when all the laughing stops. Until then, we must keep trusting our Lord and winning others to Christ. They may giggle, but Christ is all in all.
