Daily Reading—1 Samuel 28-31 / Luke 22:1-34
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
The nation of Israel has always been the center of controversy. It seems people either love or hate Israel. There is very little middle ground. Today, the people of Israel have a nation again. However, it is not a total Jewish nation, as some may assume. In the center of Jerusalem, there is a Muslim Mosque. Muslim cemeteries border the walls of this great city today. There is still a Gentile oversight in Jerusalem today.
Jesus warned in Luke 21:24 that everyone should be watching Israel and Jerusalem in particular. The times of the Gentiles will only be fulfilled when Christ returns to establish His Kingdom. Jesus brings peace into the believing hearts today and will be Israel’s only real Peace.
