KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Psalm 8:6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD:

When some people hear the word “dominion,” they automatically think of a ruler or someone in power. The term does have a sense of oversight and authority. However, since dominion has been given to someone, it also carries with it a place of submission.

If a person has made Sergeant in the military, they have rule or dominion over a group of soldiers. At the same time, they themselves are subject to their commander. If they at any time should decide to quit obeying the commander above them, very soon, they would lose the rank of Sergeant, and the position they hold over the soldiers they lead. On the other hand, if they quit serving those who rely on their leadership and carelessly risk their life and well-being, it would not be long until the position of Sergeant would be lost as well, as it would be taken from them. Dominion comes when a person submits to those in authority over them, as well as submitting to the care of what is entrusted to them.

We as humans today have been given dominion over the earth. However, that dominion is based in Jesus Christ. We only have the authority through Him and in Him. To attempt to abuse this power is to abuse what God created.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

We must remember that all things were made by Him and for Him. God created everything and everyone we see. That includes us, you, and I. We are created for His pleasure. So, to be pleasing to Him today we do so by submitting our dominion to the one who really is and always has been in control. We read in Matthew 28:18 that Jesus told His disciples that all power had been given unto Him, both in Heaven and on Earth. Friend, nothing has ever changed.

Love Gives…

January 3, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Matthew 5:43-44 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD:

Society today is so much, “give me” oriented. It is like saying, “if I will give you my love, then what’s in it for me?” But this is not true love. Real love is someone showing adoration and compassion for something or someone else. If you really love something or someone you should not be looking for what you get, but how can I give. When you came to Jesus, you loved Him because He first loved you. How did you know that He loved you? You knew because He gave of Himself for you when you had nothing to give back that was equal to the value of what He gave. He also knew you would never be able to give Him anything that could repay what He had done at Calvary. Still, He loved you enough to do it anyway.

So now, because of His love for you, you naturally want to do something for Him. Why, because you love Him and that is what love is really about. Love is about giving. Not giving to see what more you might get, but giving because you have already received His most valuable gift available, His love. John 3:16 says, “God so loved the world that He GAVE…”

In our passage in Matthew today we are told we are even to love our enemies. How do you love an enemy? GIVE. Give them some time to get to know you. Give them the most precious thing you have, Jesus. Bless them, do well for them, and pray for them.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

If love is really giving, then how can you show your love today to your spouse, children, or friends? I guess the real question is what you might give to them to show them your love. Not because you will get, just because. Oh, by the way… When you give love unselfishly as God does, watch out… that love always seems to come back at you through the ones you love. Maybe that is what God had in mind! What do you think?

How might you show God’s Love through you by giving today?”

News Worth Reading…

January 2, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Proverbs 2:10-11 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD:

Television, Radio, Internet, and the Daily Newspaper all claim they have the most accurate coverage of what is happening. They even tell you that being informed is your right. This right to know everything is often declared as part of the Freedom of Information Act or our Freedom of Free Speech. Our Constitutional Rights are something Americans have fought hard for over the years. Now technology has allowed us to know what is happening within moments of its occurrence. Sometimes the news we get does indeed help, but often it really makes little difference in our lives at all. It is generally useless information that changes nothing in our daily lives, and sometimes it is incorrect information at that.

I do however know where there is information that will influence your day today, and it is always accurate. In our verses in Proverbs today we are told when wisdom enters into our heart, and knowledge is something that pleases our inner soul, then we will be able to decide correctly for ourselves what is right and what is wrong. These verses also tell us that by having the wisdom only God can share and being confident that this information is always 100% correct, it will keep you all the days of your life.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

OK, now you want to know all of what God says, and you want to know everything today. Well, I am sorry, but unless you can read all of God’s Word today and absorb all of what you read, you probably cannot know it all today. However, you can know this, if you know Jesus as your Saviour, the Holy Spirit who resides in you knows the whole book from front to back. If you will allow Him, He will guide you in the paths of righteousness. This does not get you off the hook of reading God’s Word. The Bible and its wisdom are what the Holy Spirit will use to guide you. So read some, believe it all, ask God for direction, and walk in the Lord. Now finally, there really is some news worth reading.

How will absorb God’s Good News today?”

INTRO INTO 2025

DECEMBER 31, 2024
KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

First of all, let me say, “THANK YOU,” for joining us this year, or for some of you long time subscribers, for remaining with us for this year for “Keywords In God’s Word” Devotional. We pray these daily devotions will help you in your walk with the Lord.

These Devotions from key verses taken from daily bible reading throughout the Bible. You will soon find all the scriptures used are from the King James Bible. The author, Dr. Franklin J. Senters, has read and studied this version of scripture for many years and is completely comfortable in his belief that the KJV is the most accurate English translation of God’s Word. While some of the words used may seem archaic in nature, if studied and read in context they portray the clearest English interpretation of the original manuscripts. In “Keywords In God’s Word” Devotions we will do our best to help you understand the principles and application of these verses.

In Our verse above it says;

“Every word of God is pure,” That means they are all correct, the truth, and important. When I was a young boy my mother told me, “Read all the words of the Bible when you read it. All the thee’s, thou’s, and every word in between are written to help you.” I have never forgotten those wise words. While we could never cover all the concepts of God’s Word in one year, we have selected many Key verses to help guide us through life.

If you would please allow me to take a couple of days to introduce to you the thought behind the design of “Keywords In God’s Word”. The actual devotions will begin Friday January 1st.

WE BEGIN TOMORROW:

BIBLE READING LAYOUT FOR 2025:

“Keywords In God’s Word” will provide a Devotion online and in many e-mail boxes Monday thru Saturday each week throughout 2025. Every week with the exception of the first week of the year we have created devotions to begin on Monday and conclude on Sunday. We have dated every devotion so you can simply find today’s date and begin there.

At the bottom of each Daily Devotion you will find two reading outlines. The first one is called “THROUGH THE BIBLE ACCELERATED READING.”  By following this daily Suggested Reading Schedule you will have read through the Old Testament Once, The New Testament and Psalms twice, and the book of Proverbs twelve times in a year. You may also enjoy that in reading the New Testament the books and chapters are not all in the order we find them in our Bible. The reading style may be different and much to your surprise very enjoyable.

For many of you that is more than you will find time to read. Therefore we have also included our, “THROUGH THE BIBLE OLD & NEW TESTAMENT DAILY.” This is a daily reading Monday through Saturday, leaving Sunday open. There is a simple reason for this. We want you to read and study whatever the Lord has laid on your Pastors heart for that week. Whatever his text is for the morning and evening service was given to him by God for your specific needs. The principal for this is found in Act 17:10 & 11.

Acts 17:10-11 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Those who were from Berea had a good practice that we might do well to follow. The Bible even says they were more noble for doing so. The practice we encourage is to listen intently to the preaching of God’s Word, then let it soak in even more by re-reading the text, and examining what God was saying there. Reading a chapter before and after the text will help. However you decide to do this, we hope you might let this become a habit in your life, examining what God wants to share with your life week by week.

READING FOR REWARD

Each Daily Devotion will begin with Title, and a date. Followed by a “KEY FROM GOD’S WORD, which is a Key Scripture verse for that day, normally taken from that days ACCELERATED READING SCHEDULE at the bottom of the page. This will then be followed by something we like to call a, “THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD.” This is a short commentary by Dr. Senters of his thoughts about the Key Scripture for the day.

The final section is called; “CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY.” This section is a short thought reflecting on that day’s topic which you can carry in your heart throughout the day. It is often hard to remember all we read. Yet, a simple overview, or thought can often be remembered, that we might meditate on during the day. As mentioned above in today’s verse, in the book of Joshua, we are told:

Joshua 1:8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

While the words written by the author are not the inspired words of God, the desire is that the thoughts he shares may help you remember what God has said in that days passage.

GOODBYE 2024 – HELLO 2025

Philippians 3:13-14 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Forgetting our past, let’s enjoy our present. Let’s welcome the New Year 2025. The Word of God is still available today, and in some ways like never before. The truths contained in the pages of our Bible are still as true today as they were a year, ten years, a thousand years ago. In fact, they predicted we would have times of trials and tribulations.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

If you are a Christian and reading this, it is apparent that Christ has not returned for His church. Therefore if He tarries through this day we will welcome the New Year 2025. I truly believe that in Christ, no matter what comes we can make this next year of our life fantastic and enjoyable.

Plan in 2025 to do something for the future and future generation so that the future generation can have something and someone to look forward to. Let us just say, ”Goodbye Bye 2024 Welcome 2025.” As we plan to share Christ in some way with someone. He is our only future, real future for any and all who will believe in Him. Learn how to personally share your faith. Find a good Bible Tract and begin to hand them out. Begin now inviting people to your church services. Then call them up or meet with them following to see how they liked it. God can use you in 2025 to make this the best year to come.

We can not change what is past. However we can have a brighter view on tomorrow. Just before the book of the Revelation of John, the book of Jude has a great reminder for those looking for, and waiting on Jesus to return. It says…

Jude 1:20-25 (KJV)
20  But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21  Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
22  And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23  And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
24  Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25  To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

FINAL THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

We hope you enjoy this Living In His Word Devotional,“Keywords In God’s Word” over the next year . May God richly bless you day by day as you allow Him to speak into your hearts.

Our desire, and Ministry motto stated above in our banner has always been to,

A FREE GIFT FOR YOU:

Who does not like FREE? A Free Gift is always great. We have just that for you. Do not be mistaken; we did not pay for it or produce it. We are allowed to share it with anyone who is interested.

This free gift has been paid for by Jesus Christ and is provided by God the Father. It is a gift given by grace through faith – the gift of salvation. Here is the kicker: everyone needs it. God’s grace offers salvation freely and cannot be earned through human efforts. You and I are no different. So, how do you get it?

What Blocks us from this Free Gift? – It is Sin:
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Just admit it: everyone, including you and I, has failed and come short of God’s perfection.

Without the Free Gift, we end up paying for that sin.
Romans 6:23a “For the wages of sin is death…”
Our Sinfulness leads to spiritual death and separation from God.

Jesus has paid for the Free Gift of God’s Love and Grace:
Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Recognize that God, out of His love for us, sent Jesus Christ to die in our place for our sins.

This Free Gift of God’s Grace is received by faith in Jesus Christ
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
You can be saved by placing your faith in Jesus Christ as your Saviour understanding that salvation is a gift from God. Turn away from sin and turn towards God, seeking forgiveness.

Romans 10:9: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Simply Pray with faith in Christ:
“Dear Lord forgive me of my sin. I place my faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on Calvary for my sin, and His resurrection from the tomb for life eternal. Come into my heart and be my Saviour and take me to heaven when I die.”
