AUGUST 1 & 2—This I Confess

This I Confess

Acts 24:14-15 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Has anyone ever put you on the spot and asked you what you believe? Wow, what a deep and diverse answer many might give! However, I think Paul does a good job of answering this in just a few lines. He said, I believe in the written Word of God and believe in a resurrection for all who have ever lived.

Doesn’t that explain what we confess to believe? I believe the Word of God. That Jesus, the prophesied Messiah, came to pay the sin debt of all who confess their faith in Him. I also believe in a resurrection for all. A resurrection for the just, saved by faith in Christ, unto life eternal. For the unjust, or those who never confessed faith in Christ, unto everlasting punishment.
