JUNE 27 & 28, 2026—Who Will You Listen To?

Who Will You Listen To?

Acts 4:18-19 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.

People in the United States today are concerned with what they can and cannot say about their faith in Christ. We have leaders who claim to be Christians yet do very little to support the Christian values of this society. Even our school boards and other government officials say we cannot talk about our faith. Truth is, yes, we can. We have just as much right to freedom of speech as does anyone else.

They tried the same thing with the disciples in Acts. Sternly saying you cannot talk about Jesus. Their answer should be our answer. Their answer was, Who do you think we should listen to, you or God?

JUNE 26, 2026—Two Days, Three Times

Two Days, Three Times

Acts 2:46-47 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

I had someone ask, “Why do you have to go to church twice on Sunday and again on Wednesday?” My answer is this: you do not have to go at all. Still, I cannot understand why a Christian would not want to go as often as they have an opportunity. Spending time with other believers should be a desire, not a duty. Being at church gives you opportunities to share your spiritual gifts with others and be blessed by God. When I was young, it was referred to as “Three to Thrive.” Sunday AM, PM, and Wednesday to recharge.

Today’s verses say they went DAILY to fulfill Jewish customs and then met someplace else to fellowship and praise God.

JUNE 25, 2026—Whosoever

Whosoever

Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

I know the King James Bible has some older words that we no longer use in modern English. I disagree with those who say it is too hard to read. Actually, with just a little help occasionally from a dictionary, we can understand every word. Today, though, I want you to look at just one word. It is the word “Whosoever.”

This is not a hard word for anyone to understand. Whosoever means, well, it means whosoever, anyone, everyone, and everybody. This verse plainly says that if anyone, everyone, anybody, whosoever will call on the name of the Lord, they will be saved. Anyone who, by faith, trusts that Jesus is God’s Son who died for their sins and rose again can be saved if they will just ask.

JUNE 24, 2026—It Is The Last Thing He Said

Daily DIt Is The Last Thing He Saidraft

Acts 1:7-8 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

When I was younger, at times my parents would tell me to do a few things while they were gone. If and when they were not done, I remember hearing, “Why isn’t this done? Couldn’t you remember to do this? It was the last thing that I told you.” When they returned, it was also the first thing that they inspected. It was not that I did not remember; I was just putting it off.

The last thing Jesus told us to do before ascending back to Heaven was to be a witness unto the uttermost parts of the earth. When he returns, I can imagine it will be the first thing that He inspects. I sure do not want to hear Jesus say, “Why isn’t this done? Couldn’t you remember to do this? It was the last thing that I told you.”

JUNE 23, 2026—Do It Again

Do It Again

John 21:6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

Jesus was crucified, placed in a tomb, rose from the dead, yet the disciples went back fishing. It was what they did before and was familiar to them. Then Jesus shows up and asks, “Are you catching anything?” Not knowing it was Jesus, they yell back, “No!” He says, “Cast on the right side of the ship.” They did and caught a net full. They immediately realized that it was Jesus. Why? Well, that story is familiar. In Luke 5, when they first met Jesus, He told them where to fish, and they caught a boatload. Here He said, Do it again.

When Jesus tells us to fish for souls, we ought to listen. Just because we did not win someone one time, maybe Jesus is just saying, Do it again.
