Are You ALL IN!

Daily Reading—Ecc. 1-2 / 2 Co. 12

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

2 Corinthians 8:5 And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    Paul here is talking about the church and giving. He makes a comment in 2 Cor. 8:5 that is pivotal to joyous giving. He says, “They did, not as we hoped,” which is to say, they did more than we hoped for.

    So, what was the reason for their joyful, abundant giving? Paul tells us, “but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.” Their dedication to the Lord was already there. Now they are dedicating themselves to the Lord’s work. They understood that not only did they have the Lord, but the Lord also had all of them. Everything they had. They were all in. Their time, talents, and treasures all belong to Him, and they were glad to have something to give.

Are you able to gladly give to Him?

Don’t Play In The Street

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    Imagine for a moment that you are a child. You live in a big city on a busy street, and you have no yard to play in. Which would be worse? If I, as your parent, said, “Do not play in the street; there is a lot of traffic, and you may be hit by a car and killed.” Or, if I said, “Do not worry about the cars; play wherever you want; I think they will stop.” As a child, play wherever sounds great. However, is that the best advice? Not really.

    As Christians, we hate telling the world of their sin. Satan has made sin look so good to them. Yet, they need to know that the wages of sin is eternal death. That forsaking sin will not bring them sorrow at all; it will instead bring them joy and life.  

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

As good friends, shouldn’t we warn people of the danger of sin?

You Are The Temple

SEPTEMBER 22, 2026
Daily Reading—Pro. 28-29 / 2 Co. 9-10

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    When Paul wrote this to the church in Corinth, it was not hard for them to visualize what he was saying. There was a separate temple that contained an idol for almost every false god that the Romans had. People would go into the temple and bow down before it, sacrifice to it, and bring gifts to this idol. Paul said, Your God does not live in a building; He lives in you.

    Christians have the same God today. He lives in the heart of each of us who has accepted Jesus as Saviour. As the verse says, God dwells in us, walks with us, sees what we see, and hears what we hear. You are the temple that God resides in.  

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

So, here’s a question for you: where are you taking God today?
What will you make Him hear and see with you?

When Did Life Become New

SEPTEMBER 21, 2026
Daily Reading—Pro. 26-27 / 2 Co. 8

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

     This is one of those verses that had a big impact on my life. I had been brought up to believe that once I was saved, I was always saved. I still believe that, with one clause. YOU MUST KNOW YOU ARE SAVED!

    As a young boy, I said a prayer along with others my age, was told I was saved, and was baptized. For the next twenty years, I lived like the world. When I walked an aisle in my late twenties, I thought I had rededicated my life to the Lord. That was until this verse began to plague me. I could not get the question out of my mind. When did things in my life become new? I realized it was in my twenties when I went forward. Old things, such as language, desires, and habits, had less of an appeal.

She’s Looking At Me Funny

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    If you are ever around 3-5-year-olds for very long, you have heard, “He touched me,” “That’s mine,” “It’s my toy,” and “She’s looking at me.” If it were not for the crying and whining accompanying it, it might be funny. But no one likes to hear adults cry and whine.

    Many Christians are much like these little ones when it comes to witnessing. Excuses like, “They will think I am a religious nut.” I wonder what kind of nut they think you are if you say you’re a Christian, but don’t tell them of Christ. Or you will hear, “I do not talk well to people.” I take offense at that. They must not think I am a person, as they just spoke to me. Listen, no matter what people say here on earth, soon all believers will be going to heaven.

Isn’t it worth it to take someone along?

     On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in your pastor’s heart. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message.
Then, when you get home, reread those passages for today’s reading.
God has given your pastor exactly what He desires for you to have on that day.
