Made For One Another

JANUARY 29, 2026
Daily Reading—Exodus 10-12 /  Matthew 19:1-15

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 19:4-5 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

 

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    In a day and age where there is controversy over who should be biblically married, it appears to me that Jesus made it abundantly clear. The Pharisees came to ask if it was lawful for a man to put away his wife. They were looking for a legal answer to a moral question. Jesus first clarified who it was that should be married. God made man for woman and a woman for a man. On that foundation, He answered them.

 

    When man wants to rewrite morality, it would do us well to first reference God’s Word. In the end, people may do as they like. However, we have no authority to change God’s Word to make it morally ok.

  

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

When thinking about today’s issues, where do you find your ethical values?
The world, or the Word?

God Protects His Church

JANUARY 28, 2026
Daily Reading – Exodus 7-9 /  Matthew 18

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

 

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    OK, I know God is everywhere. I also know that God, in the person of the Holy Spirit, continuously resides in every believer. However, in today’s passage, Jesus was looking ahead to the time when He would no longer be physically on earth. He was talking about the authority and power He shared with His church. Jesus was letting us know there is a protection we gain through Him as we gather and become accountable to one another.

 

    With so many leaving the church today, Satan must be doing a happy dance as he separates Christians from a real source of power and protection in their lives.

  

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

What body of Christ will you meet with this week
to see the power and protection of God in your life?

 

IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:

Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?

Hear Ye Him

JANUARY 27, 2026
Daily Reading—Exodus 4-6 /  Matthew 17

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    People today are hungry for information. We have the news instantly and readily available from all over the globe. Literature that was once housed in vast libraries is now reduced to gigabytes and stored on a smartphone. We Skype, Facebook, Tweet, Instagram, and stay in touch instantly with friends in every part of the world. Yet the information we all need most was spoken in just three short words. “Hear ye Him.”

    Today, with all that we have available to us, what we need most is to still hear from Jesus. He was, and still is, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Jesus is the first and the last of all we need to know.

  

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

   Considering all the information you will receive today,
what information will you hear from Him?

A Cent For A Soul

Daily Reading – Exodus 1-3 /  Matthew 16

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

 

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

  We live in a very materialistic society today. We all want the newest electronic gadgets, such as phones, computers, televisions, etc. Yet to get the newest costs a premium price. Then, within just a few months, they are worth half the amount because technology has moved on to something presumed to be better.

 

    Isn’t it good to know the soul of man has the same value today as always? The price of a soul has been the blood of Christ as long as man has been alive. It holds the same value today. Yet all too often, people devalue their lives in exchange for a few dollars and cents. Their life is given to careers, wealth, or fame, instead of to God. 

   

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

What would you give in exchange for your soul?

So Many To Feed

JANUARY 24 & 25, 2026
Daily Reading—Genesis 49-50 /  Matthew 15:21-39

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    As the disciples looked out over the crowd following Jesus, they saw an impossible task. What Jesus was asking them to do, reason and logic said, they did not have enough food to do it. At the same time, they did not want to tell Jesus no. So, they did the right thing. They asked Jesus, How can we possibly do such a thing? There are so many to feed. What Jesus answered them also included them, and they did it.

    As we look into a world today filled with sin, we might think to ourselves, There is no way spiritually to feed so many souls. However, if God asked us to do it, He surely has a plan. We should be asking Him, how can we possibly do such a thing?

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

When He answers you, and it includes you, will you do it?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

     On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home, reread those passages for today’s reading. God has given your pastor exactly what He desires for you to have on that day.
