JUNE 4 & 5, 2022 – Still Trying To Kill Jesus

Still Trying To Kill Jesus

JUNE 4 & 5, 2022
Daily Reading – 2 Kings 11-13 / John 11:38-57
Daily Reading – No Reading on Sunday

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

John 11:53 Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

It may be shocking to think that men would get together and plot to kill the very Son of God. Just the thought of it seems wrong. Yet we read that they did.
It may seem even more unimaginable to think men today are still plotting to try to kill Jesus. Maybe not physically, but it is assassination just the same.
How, you might ask. Well, the bible says in John 1:1 Jesus was and is the Word of God. Today we have people everywhere trying to disprove or at least discredit the Word of God. When they do, they are attempting to kill the power of the Word. We know that they will also fail, as the bible says in Luke 21:33 “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.”

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Isn’t it good to know, Jesus never fails?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.

JUNE 3, 2022 – But I Know…

   But I Know…

JUNE 3, 2022
Daily Reading – 2 Kings 9-10 / John 11:1-37

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

John 11:21-22 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Oh, how death in a family will cause a flood of emotions in people’s hearts. Some will turn from God, blaming Him for the death of a loved one. Thinking, a loving God would have stopped this. However, we forget, death is part of the curse humanity brought upon themselves. God’s original intention was for us not to die. Sin brought this ugly phenomenon to earth.
While some turn from God, yet others turn to Him. Martha in our passage says, “But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.” She said, “Even now,” meaning even in death our most horrible adversary, Jesus, I believe in you. Jesus still is working to bring about earthly and eternal life. Martha said “But I Know…”

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Do you have this confidence in Him today? Do You Know?

JUNE 2, 2022 – Eternal And Never

Eternal And Never

JUNE 2, 2022
Daily Reading – 2 Kings 6-8 / John 10:22-42

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

John 10:27-28 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Jesus said He is the way of salvation. His love for man was displayed in the same way we see God the Father displaying His love. When God loves, God gives. (Check out John 3:16.) Jesus said, “And I give unto them eternal life.” What a great promise and gift. Then, to be sure He was clear about what eternal meant He said, “and they shall never perish.”
I am so glad Jesus made it clear as to what happens with His sheep. When we enter the sheepfold of Christ, we are given eternal life, and He said we shall never perish. We will be disciplined at times. However, we cannot run away, and no one can take us away from God. NO One!

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Doesn’t Eternal and Never sound like great words
when they come from Christ?

JUNE 1, 2022 – One Fold

  One Fold

JUNE 1, 2022
Daily Reading – 2 Kings 4-5 / John 10:1-21

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

I love it when Jesus talks about me in the bible. I almost get goose bumps. In today’s passage, while Jesus was talking to the Jewish Pharisees about the fact that He was the way of salvation, He tossed in a verse that spoke about ME! OK, I cannot be so self-centered… He spoke of you too if you are saved.
He said, “I have sheep which are not of this fold.” In other words, people who are not Jewish. That’s me! Then He went on to say He was going to bring us all together to be part of one fold. That my friend is not a Jewish or Gentile fold, it is the fold of the Born Again in Christ Jesus. That’s me too! People from every tribe and nation will be in this fold.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Did you hear his voice one day and become part of His fold with us?

MAY 31, 2022 – Let’s Play 1000 Questions

  Let’s Play 1000 Questions

MAY 31, 2022
Daily Reading – 2 Kings 1-3 / John 9:24-41

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

John 9:26-27 Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

The young man in our passage has just received his sight. He has been blind from birth. What is the first thing that he sees? A bunch of religious know-it-alls who want to play 1000 questions. Who did it? How did He do it? Where is the man who did it? What day was it? Then when they ran out of questions, it appears that they repeated the ones he had already answered.
It amazes me how many Bible questions people can come up with when you are trying to tell them about Jesus and salvation. They want to know everything except the for the fact that they are sinful and need a Saviour. Every question except, “What must I do to be saved?” As troubling as this may be, we need to keep telling them the gospel.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Could this time be the one time they finally
ask Jesus into their heart?
