A Sure Preservation
NOVEMBER 5, 2026
Daily Reading—Jeremiah 32-34 / Philemon
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
As a young boy, I recall my mom canning various things. The windows would cover with condensation as the pressure cooker, letting off steam in the kitchen, made that rhythmic sound. She put whatever she was canning in jars with lids, cooked them, and then would wait to hear the lid pop. Once it did, she knew what was in the jars would be good until the day she opened them.
The Lord is my eternal preservation, as I have put my faith in what He has done for me. He went through the pressure of taking my sin to the cross. When He popped out of the tomb, He sealed my eternal destiny. Paul said, “and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom.” This is a sure preservation.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Have you been sealed by God’s Holy Spirit for all of eternity?
IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:
Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?
Within this reading, do I find a CHALLENGE for my life?
What actions will I take today or this week to meet this CHALLENGE?
