JUNE 10, 2022 – Comforting Knowledge

  Comforting Knowledge

JUNE 10, 2022
Daily Reading – 2 Kings 23-24 / John 14

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

What joy to know we are never left alone. Jesus said that when He would leave this earth His Father would send another comforter. Jesus was their comforter while on earth, but He knew they would need a full-time round the clock comforter once He was gone.
When we accept Christ as our Saviour we receive this comforter, the Holy Spirit, to reside in us. How long does Jesus say He will be with us? He said He would abide with us forever.

No matter where we are, no matter what our situation, we can know the Holy Spirit is with us. We do not need to pray and call on Him to come; He is ever-present with us.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Could there be any more comforting knowledge than that?

JUNE 9, 2022 – Is It ME?

  Is It ME?

JUNE 9, 2022
Daily Reading – 2 Kings 20-22 / John 13:18-38

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

John 13:21 & 25 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me…. He then lying on Jesus’ breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

You might think after following Jesus for His earthly ministry the disciples would know in their hearts, they loved Him and would not betray Him. Several times Peter piped up and said, “Not ME! I will follow you wherever you go!” Yet when Jesus said one would betray Him, all the disciples wondered, “Is it ME?”
As believers we know that we love the Lord. We know we have by faith accepted His precious gift of salvation. Yet we must ask as did the disciples, have I betrayed the love of Christ? Can we say we are serving Him, sharing the gospel as commanded, and living for Him, as we should?

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Oh, how good to know we serve a loving and forgiving God.
Yet on occasion, we must ask ourselves, “Is It ME?”

JUNE 8, 2022 – Keeping It Clean

  Keeping It Clean

JUNE 8, 2022
Daily Reading – 2 Kings 18-19 / John 13:1-17

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

John 13:10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Jesus washed the disciples’ feet as an example of how we might live our lives. They lived a bit different back then. When we take a bath, we simply go into the bathroom and jump in the tub or shower. When they would take a bath, they would often walk to the public bathhouse, bathe, and then walk back. When they returned home, they were clean except for their feet, so they would need to wash their feet.
We as believers have been washed in the blood of Jesus Christ and cleansed of our sin. Nevertheless, we walk daily in a sin filled world and pick up particles of sin in our lives. To maintain fellowship with God we must daily come and allow Him to wash off the sins of the world.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Have you been keeping it clean?

JUNE 7, 2022 – They Believed Not

  They Believed Not

JUNE 7, 2022
Daily Reading – 2 Kings 16-17 / John 12:23-50

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

John 12:37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

It seems that many people today are chasing the signs and wonders. Whoever puts on the best show is the one who draws the largest crowds. You would think with the coliseums filled to capacity with people watching such things, most people in the US would be saved. Yet currently sinfulness seems to be worse.
It was the same Jesus’ day. People wanted a sign. Yet, when Jesus Himself performed miracles, they still did not believe on Him.
Friend, it is not the signs and wonders that will change a life. It is the deep-down realization that we are sinners who need a Saviour. It is trusting Jesus as the Lamb of God who sacrificed for our sin. It is placing our faith on what He did on the cross.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Does the world really need another sign?

JUNE 6, 2022 – His Crime Was LIFE

  His Crime Was LIFE

JUNE 6, 2022
Daily Reading – 2 Kings 14-15 / John 12:1-22

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

John 12:10-11 But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death; Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

As we read in John 12, we find the chief priests thought about killing Lazarus. For what? His crime was the fact that when Jesus called to him to come back to life, he obeyed and came back to life. His crime therefore was nothing more than LIFE!
Today many people do not like Christians. Why is that? It is because when we heard the voice of the Saviour calling to our soul to be saved and receive life, we obeyed the call and received eternal life.

Many of us have gone another step beyond. Some of us have tried to help others find REAL LIFE as well. Our greatest crime is loving LIFE.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

If that was the charge against you today,
would you be found guilty?
