MAY 30, 2022 – They Just Don’t Believe It

They Just Don’t Believe It

MAY 30, 2022
Daily Reading – 1 Kings 22 / John 9:1-23

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

John 9:18 But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Isn’t it amazing when we read the story in John 9 how some who were standing there would not believe the testimony of the man himself? They could see, he who was blind could now see. He himself told them Jesus had come by and healed his sight. Yet they denied the proof of the truth standing right before them.
Today we have the same thing happening. People look at the lives of believers and see something different. When they ask how it happened, they are told, Jesus came by, gave me sight to see my sinful condition, then saved my soul, and changed my life. Yet they walk away in unbelief of what they can see is the truth. Do not let the world’s unbelief get you down.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Will you stand as a testimony of God’s work?

A Forward Faith

MAY 28 & 29, 2022
Daily Reading – 1 Kings 20-21 / John 8:31-59
Daily Reading – No Reading on Sunday

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

As we look back to the cross of Calvary, knowing our salvation is by faith in Jesus who died for our sin and then rose again the third day from the tomb, many wonder, how were Old Testament saint saved. They were saved the same way we are. It is by faith. Our faith is in what Jesus did in the past at Calvary. Their faith was looking forward to His coming. Jesus said in John 8:56; “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.”

Just as the Old Testament saints did, we too are looking forward. By faith we are looking forward to His return again. It is by faith in His Word we believe this, just like they did many years ago.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Do you have a forward faith?
Are you looking for His coming?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.

MAY 27, 2022 – When Will It Ever Stop

When Will It Ever Stop

MAY 27, 2022
Daily Reading – 1 Kings 18-19 / John 8:1-30

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

John 8:6-7 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

There are many lessons to learn from this passage. One catching my attention is how these men who bring this woman to Jesus made nonstop accusations against her. It says Jesus acted as if He was ignoring them and stooped down to write on the ground, yet they just went on and on, asking over and over. I wonder if Jesus thought, “When will it ever stop?”
You need to know in life, you will always have the accusers. Someone trying to hinder your walk with God and destroy your testimony. If you have truly repented of something and asked God to forgive you, believe that He has. Turn to 1 John 1:9, read it, and believe it.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Why do we worry more about man’s destruction
than God’s construction of our lives?

MAY 26, 2022 – Division

Division

MAY 26, 2022
Daily Reading – 1 Kings 15-17 / John 7:37-53

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

John 7:43 So there was a division among the people because of him.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Throughout history, the name of Jesus has caused division. In Micah 7:6, it says that families would be divided because of Him. In Matthew 10:35-36 Jesus said when you decide to follow me there will be divisions among family and friends. Divisions.
Jesus does not want families divided. However, when God created us with the freedom of choice, it was inevitable that some would choose to follow Christ and His gospel while others would not. Today nothing has changed. Solomon said it best in Ecclesiastes when he said, “there is no new thing under the sun.” Parents are heartbroken over children who do not follow Christ, as are some children for their parents. Yet we must never give up in sharing the gospel.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Won’t a Right Decision still stop Division?

MAY 25, 2022 – What’s The Right Thing To Do

What’s The Right Thing To Do

MAY 25, 2022
Daily Reading – 1 Kings 13-14 / John 7:1-36

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

John 7:23-24 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

The Jewish religious leaders were angry with Jesus. Their anger stemmed from the fact that Jesus had worked on the Sabbath day by healing someone. According to them, you were not to do any type of work on the Sabbath Day. Jesus points out that they also work on the Sabbath day by fulfilling the law of circumcision. Then He said, do not judge the work, judge what is the right thing to do.
We are often too quick to judge others. We make determinations on what we see and may not know all the details behind what is happening.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Might we all be happier if we began to look at people with love instead of doubt?
