AUGUST 8, 2022 – Still Valid Today

  Still Valid Today

AUGUST 8, 2022
Daily Reading – Psa. 18-21 / Acts 28:17-31

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 28:28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

At the time of the writing of Acts 28, the Jewish people had controlled the written words of God for thousands of years. They had the truth in their hands. They had heard the truth with their ears, seen the truth with their eyes, and yet refused to believe the truth. Those who did were converted and healed from sins grip. Now God sends the gospel in an organized fashion to the Gentiles and says, “they will hear it.”
Today that promise is still true. At no time has God rescinded this statement. Will every Gentile who hears this glorious truth be saved? Sadly, we know that will not be the case. Yet the statement is still true today. “The salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.”

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Who will you tell today?

AUGUST 6 & 7, 2022 – They Changed Their Minds

  They Changed Their Minds

JULY 6 & 7, 2022
Daily Reading – Psa. 11-17 / Acts 28:1-16

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 28:6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

In Acts 28, the folks on the island of Melita changed their minds a few times. First, they welcome everyone off the boat and treat them kindly. After a poisonous snake bit Paul, they saw him as a criminal getting what is coming to him. When the poison had no effect, they changed their mind again and saw him as a god.
It is true things around us will at times cause us to change our minds. The Bible says in Matt. 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” People are watching everything we do as Christians and listening to all we say.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

We sure do not want people to see us as gods,
but how great would it be if they instead saw our God in us?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.

AUGUST 5, 2022 – In The Presence Of Them All

In The Presence Of Them All

AUGUST 5, 2022
Daily Reading – Psa. 6-10 / Acts 27:21-44

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 27:35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Many Christians pray at home around the dinner table. We give thanks for meals at church when we are enjoying fellowship. But what about in a restaurant full of people? How about in the break room at work, or at a class reunion? Do we dare pray in public, even when the people we are with possibly do not pray?
Today’s verse says Paul; “gave thanks to God in presence of them all.” I am not saying we need to stand on a table, call for attention, and scream a loud prayer. However, we ought never be ashamed to bow our heads, and thank God for His provision for life. After praying in public, I have had people stop by my table to say, “we do not see that much anymore.”

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Will you thank God today, in the presence of them all?

AUGUST 4, 2022 – What If They Won’t Listen

  What If They Won’t Listen

AUGUST 4, 2022
Daily Reading – Psa. 1-5 / Acts 27:1-20

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 27:10-11 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives. Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Have you ever felt as though you are waving a red flag as hard as you can, and no one is watching? That you try to warn people of death and hell and they look at you as if you are crazy? Do not feel alone. In today’s passage Paul tries to warn the people on the ship that he is on that trouble is ahead. Why did they listen to another man’s advice over Paul’s advice? Because they did not believe Paul’s advice came from God.
There are those who will not listen to our message of Christ’s love. They do not believe our advice comes from God. We cannot make them listen or believe. We can however make their lives a matter of daily prayer. Never give up warning those blinded by the world.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

If one listens, isn’t it worth telling them all?

AUGUST 3, 2022 – What Is A Saint To Do?

What Is A Saint To Do?

AUGUST 3, 2022
Daily Reading – Job 39-42 / Acts 26

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

As a Pastor I have often heard the question; “Ok I am saved, now what?” What are we as Christians supposed to do with our lives? People are normally looking for a step one, step two, and step three kind of answer. However, that is a good question for us all to answer. What is a saint of God to do?
Jesus, in speaking to Paul, gave us the answer. We are to help open the eyes of those blinded by Satan and the darkness of sin in this world. Bringing them to the glorious light of God and the truth of His Word. That they might receive forgiveness for sin they so desperately need and an inheritance that comes along with being adopted into the family of God by faith in His Son Jesus.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Doesn’t that simplify things a bit?
