AUGUST 13 & 14, 2022 – Still Not Good Enough

   Still Not Good Enough

JULY 13 & 14, 2022
Daily Reading – Psa. 42-47 / Rom. 5

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

I meet people all the time who somehow believe they need to clean up their lives before they can be saved. They think they must quit drinking, smoking, drugs, cussing, or something before God would accept them. Even worse are those who accept Christ as Saviour, and then try to work to keep themselves saved. Hey folks, we will never be good enough to be saved.
What a joy to know that in Romans 5 it says God loved us so much, that even while we were still in our sin, Christ died for us. Once we accept Christ, then God begins the cleansing process. I like the fishing analogy I heard about winning people to the Lord. It went; “we catch them, God cleans them.”

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

I am so glad we don’t have to pre-qualify people, aren’t you?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.

AUGUST 12, 2022 – Will You Believe It?

  Will You Believe It?

AUGUST 12, 2022
Daily Reading – Psa. 37-41 / Rom. 4

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Romans 4:20-22 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

When I was little, we would play a kind of silly game. We would place a bat, tip on the ground, standing up with the handle toward the sky. Next, we would place our forehead on the bat handle and then spin around and around, then let go and try to walk. Needless to say, we were dizzy and staggering everywhere. We had no control of it until the dizziness wore off.
Many people today are living dizzy lives. They run round and round in circles from one quick fix in life to another. Then wonder why their life is staggering back and forth. If God is the center of our life, and we make Him the answer to life’s situations, the staggering will stop. Abraham staggered not at the promises of God.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Will you believe that this faith will work for you?

AUGUST 11, 2022 – Faith Plus NOTHING!

  Faith Plus NOTHING!

AUGUST 11, 2022
Daily Reading – Psa. 33-36 / Rom. 3

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

In an Evangelistic service, during the invitation, the Evangelist gave a clear presentation of the Gospel. From the pulpit he led people in a prayer that, if said from the heart to God, was accepting by faith Christ as Saviour. When finished he asked those who prayed that prayer to come forward. Some did, some did not.
I was invited later to visit a man who was there. In our conversation he said he wanted to be saved. He believed Christ died for him and His blood paid the price for his sin. He said, “I prayed with the Evangelist, but I am nervous in crowds and did not walk forward.” He feared since he did not come forward, he was not saved. Oh, what joy to share that salvation was not by deeds, works, or a walk, it is by faith. I later baptized this man.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Aren’t you glad we do not earn salvation?

AUGUST 10, 2022 – You Know

  You Know

AUGUST 10, 2022
Daily Reading – Psa. 27-32 / Rom. 2

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Romans 2:11-12 For there is no respect of persons with God. For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

People will ask about the fate of those in the world who do not know there is a God. Will they go to hell? Yet the bible says, You Know! If we read past Romans 2:12 it says our thoughts and conscience bear witness in our heart that there is a God. It speaks of people not having the law, God’s written word. Yet there is still no excuse. Why, because in their hearts they know.
It is natural to know it is wrong to kill another person. Why, because we know life is valuable. We know in our mind committing adultery is a sin. Why, because God placed in our hearts moral boundaries concerning love. Everyone will be either judged by the written law of God, or by the law of God written in the heart.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Does anyone really have an excuse not to seek God?

AUGUST 9, 2022 – I Am Not Ashamed, Am I?

I Am Not Ashamed, Am I?

AUGUST 9, 2022
Daily Reading – Psa. 22-26 / Rom. 1

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

I have some good news! No really, I have some really great news. Not ordinary news. Not the kind of news you will see on TV. This is better than the birth of a child news, or the “We are getting married,” news. This news is life changing, extraordinary, you will never believe it is possible kind of news. Yet, if I tell you, you might get mad. So, I will just keep it to myself.
You want to strangle someone like that, right? I know I would. However, that is how many believers treat the Word of God. It is the best, life changing, really great news there ever was or ever will be. “It is the power of God unto salvation.” Still, we are afraid someone might get angry if we tell them. Therefore, we keep it to ourselves.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Are we ashamed of the Gospel?
