MAY 29, 2026—Division

Division

John 7:43 So there was a division among the people because of him.

Throughout history, the name of Jesus has caused division. Micah 7:6 says that families would be divided because of Him. In Matthew 10:35-36, Jesus said, When you decide to follow me, there will be divisions among family and friends. Divisions.

Jesus does not want families divided. However, when God created us with the freedom of choice, it was inevitable that some would choose to follow Christ and His gospel, while others would not. Today, nothing has changed. Solomon said it best in Ecclesiastes when he said, “There is no new thing under the sun.” Parents are heartbroken over children who do not follow Christ, as are some children for their parents. Yet we must never give up on sharing the gospel.

MAY 28, 2026—What’s The Right Thing To Do

What’s The Right Thing To Do

John 7:23-24 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

The Jewish religious leaders were angry with Jesus. Their anger stemmed from the fact that Jesus had worked on the Sabbath day by healing someone. According to them, you were not to do any type of work on the Sabbath Day. Jesus points out that they also work on the Sabbath day by fulfilling the law of circumcision. Then He said, Do not judge the work; judge what is the right thing to do.

We are often too quick to judge others. We make determinations on what we see and may not know all the details behind what is happening.

MAY 27, 2026—The Fountain Of Life

The Fountain Of Life

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Ponce de Leon is remembered for his search for the “Fountain of Youth.” Although he is credited with finding Florida, the explorer never found a “Fountain of Youth.” Others have searched for such a fountain. It is said that Alexander the Great also claimed to have found a “River of Healing” in the fourth century. Many such claims have come from all over the world. Even today, some still search for this miracle body of water.

Jesus said the words He spoke, and the Spirit of God brings eternal life. The real fountain of healing and life are the words that spring forth from the Word of God. It is that Living Water also mentioned in John 7:38 that should flow through you.

MAY 26, 2026—Now Or Later

Now Or Later

John 6:26-27 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

Things! People want things that they can see and hold. A belief is hard to show off, but a boat is another story. It has always been this way. Often, this is the reason people miss heaven. They want things from God that they can see. Things like money, homes, cars, and the like. When they feel that God is not giving them what they want, they feel they do not need Him.

Jesus warned of this attitude in John 6:26 & 27. He said, You only come to me for food. He went on to say, Don’t work so hard for things you can see, for they will perish. Today, we too often are consumed with the NOW, and forget to thank and praise Him for the LATER.

MAY 25, 2026—What Would You Have Said?

What Would You Have Said?

John 6:5-6 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.

Imagine if you will, you just received a call and were told that tonight, 100 people were coming over for dinner. You are at work and do not have the time to purchase groceries, let alone prepare enough food for 100 people. What would you have said to the caller?.

In John 6, Jesus knew this was a great teachable moment in the lives of the disciples. Philip did what most of us would do. We would look at what we have and determine if it is possible. What Philip forgot was that the Son of God was there to help him. With God, even what may seem impossible is possible. We too often forget in our trying times that this very same God is on our side, and our answer is as close as a prayer.
