How Do I Get Salvation

Daily Reading—Isa. 11-14 / Eph. 5

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    People are always trying to find new ways to get and/or to keep their salvation. Either by the things that they do or the religious acts that they keep. I love Ephesians 2:8-9, because it tells it like it is.

    It says, “For by Grace are ye saved.” Grace is God giving us what we do not deserve. We do not deserve to be saved from hell, as all have sinned and come short of His glory. Paul also says salvation is “Not of yourselves,” emphasized with, “Not of works, lest any man should boast.” That removes anything I might do, whether it be a good deed or a religious act. He shares that we are saved through faith in God’s gift. It is faith in Christ and Him alone.

Isn’t it great to know God saves us and not we ourselves?

What A Blessing

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    One of my favorite hymns in church is “This World Is Not My Home.” For every believer, this is so true. We no longer have citizenship here on earth. Our citizenship is really in heaven. It has been said that we are pilgrims on a journey toward a heavenly home. On this journey, God has blessed us in Heavenly places.

    Where are those places? They are, “In Christ.” After accepting Christ as Saviour, we were placed in Him. His Holy Spirit is not only in us but also seals us until Jesus returns for us. What a blessing to know we are secure, are forgiven, have an inheritance, are adopted, and are blessed, “in Christ.” All because He went back to heaven to secure all those blessings for us.

Isn’t it great to know you are so blessed?

Sow What?

Daily Reading—Isa. 5-7 / Eph. 3

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    Does it matter what you do? People have pondered this question for ages. Asking, “Who does it hurt if I do this or that?” Or “It is none of their business what I do.” Another is, “No one cares what I do anyway.”

    Does it matter what you do? YES, it absolutely does. Who does it hurt? Often, our actions may hurt God. “It’s no one’s business; no one cares.” Our life is God’s business, and He does care. Also, we are impacted by how we live. The Bible says we harvest what our lives plant. God is not mocked. We cannot claim to be Christians and have no difference between our lives and those of the world. It is simple: if you plant corn, you should expect corn to grow.

What seeds will your life plant today? What harvest do you plan to reap?

What Is The Promise?

Daily Reading—Song of So. 7-8 / Eph. 1

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Galatians 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    Paul says in this verse that we are children of the promise. But just what is that promise?

    If you go back to Galatians 3:26, you read, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” In 3:29, it says, “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” So, what is the promise? The promise is, if we know Christ as Saviour, we are heirs together with Him. Romans 8:16-17 “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” Now that is a promise.

God has given your pastor exactly what He desires for you to have on that day.

God’s GPS

OCTOBER 2, 2026
Daily Reading—Song of So. 4-6 / Gal. 6

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Galatians 3:24-25 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    GPS systems are great. Well, sometimes. It depends on how accurately you program them. If you enter very specific address information, road types you want to travel, etc., they will normally bring you to where you need to be. However, once you have memorized the route, you no longer need the GPS.

    God’s Word is much like a GPS, directing us where we need to be. God’s Word confronts our sinfulness and leads us to Jesus as our Saviour. That is what Paul was saying in today’s verse. The law was our schoolmaster, or GPS, that brought us to Christ. The law cannot and did not save us; it leads us to our Saviour. Once Jesus is in our hearts, we follow Him, not the law.
