MAY 1, 2026—Do You Want To See Jesus

Do You Want To See Jesus

Luke 19:3-4 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.

“Zacchaeus was a wee little man; a wee little man was He. He climbed up in a sycomore tree for the Lord he wanted to see.” Most children who have gone to Sunday School sang this little song. One thing that sticks out to me in today’s passage and the song is that Jesus was coming, and he wanted to see him.

For many people, the idea of Jesus coming by is a sobering one. If they found out that He was coming to their house, there would be some cleaning up to do. Friend, Jesus already sees what is in your house. Even more important, He sees what is in your heart. If you heard Jesus was passing by, would you run to get a better view or try to hide some things from His view?.

APRIL 30, 2026—They Knew He Knew

They Knew He Knew

Luke 18:34 And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

The disciples in this passage heard Jesus speak and understood His words, but didn’t fully comprehend the meanings of what He said. Nevertheless, they continued to follow Him. Why? They knew, He knew.

Over years of reading and studying scripture, I have found one thing to be true: I am still learning. I have read the entire bible yearly for many years. With every reading, I learn more about God’s Word than I knew before. I have never let the parts I did not totally grasp stop me from growing by what I did understand. I am so glad I never quit before God revealed the next great thing to me. I know He knows and always look forward to what He will teach me next.

APRIL 29, 2026—Mission NOT Impossible

Mission NOT Impossible

Luke 18:26-27 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

As a young boy, I watched a TV show called Mission Impossible. Each week, a special team would be given a task that seemed impossible and asked if they would accept the mission. They always accepted, and by the show’s end, they found a way to tackle the problem.

Man’s most impossible task is dealing with eternity when we die. There is a sin debt we cannot pay, yet a payment must be made. When we look at earthly goods as payment, we soon realize that things cannot buy salvation. Nor can good works or prestige secure our place in heaven. Yet God made a way, through faith in Christ, to save us. God made what seemed impossible, NOT Impossible.

APRIL 28, 2026—Not Without, Within

Not Without, Within

Luke 17:20-21 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

What is the United States of America? Is it the mass of states that border one another? No, Hawaii and Alaska are part of the USA, but do not touch the others. In reality, it is more than just landmass; the people make up the country. What good is a country without people? Just as a church is not a building. A Church is a fellowship of like-minded people, called together by God to serve the Lord in a particular place.

The Kingdom of God will also be a place. However, today it is made up of individuals who have sworn their allegiance to the King of this Kingdom. He is Jesus Christ, our Lord.

How Soon We Forget

Luke 17:17-18 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

Do you recall the day you were saved? It was that time you realized your life was filled with sin, and there was no remedy for this condition, no way for you to pay the sin debt or wash it away on your own. Then you heard of Jesus. How He came from heaven to die for your sins. That He became the payment you could not pay, the sacrifice you did not have. You heard how He rose again to give you a home in heaven someday. Remember your heart pounding, thinking that all your sins would be forgiven if you put your faith in what Jesus had done and asked Him to forgive you and come into your heart? Do you recall how free you felt from all the burden of sin when He saved you? Well then, will you be like one of the nine lepers in Luke 17 who took the time to go back and say thanks?.
