JUNE 15, 2026—He Keeps His Promises

He Keeps His Promises

John 16:22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

Jesus told the disciples, Right now, you are full of sorrow. Why were they sorrowful? It was because the world they lived in for several years following Christ was coming to an end. He is talking of going away to another place with His Father. He told them they would lament or cry over His departure. It was a sad moment.

Then He said, I will be gone, but I am coming back again. That gave the disciples great hope. Guess what? He did come back just as He said. Well, friends, He also told us that He has gone to prepare a place for us, and He is coming back again for us. We know this is true because He always keeps His promises. That promise should give you great joy; that no man can take from you.

JUNE 13 & 14, 2026—They Know Not Jesus

They Know Not Jesus

John 16:2-3 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

Today, it would almost appear that everyone knows the scripture. It is used in movies as part of their scripts. Politicians use it to bolster poll numbers. Even religious hate groups will quote Biblical content, trying to use it against the church. The problem is, they may know the words, but they do not know the author.

Jesus warned the disciples in His day that these people were around. He said in John 16:3, “And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.” Well, as it says in Ecclesiastes 1:9, “…there is no new thing under the sun.” How can this be changed? Only if they have a change of heart. Only if they come to know Jesus.

JUNE 12, 2026—Comforting Knowledge

Comforting Knowledge

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

What joy to know we are never left alone. Jesus said that when He would leave this earth, His Father would send another comforter. Jesus was their comforter while on earth, but He knew they would need a full-time, round-the-clock comforter once He left.

When we accept Christ as our Saviour, we receive this comforter, the Holy Spirit, to reside in us. How long does Jesus say He will be with us? He said He would abide with us forever. No matter where we are, no matter what our situation, we can know the Holy Spirit is with us. We do not need to pray and call on Him to come; He is ever-present with us.

JUNE 11, 2026—Is It ME?

Is It ME?

John 13:21 & 25 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me….  He then lying on Jesus’ breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?

ou might think, after following Jesus for His earthly ministry, the disciples would know in their hearts they loved Him and would not betray Him. Several times, Peter piped up and said, “Not ME! I will follow you wherever you go!” Yet when Jesus said one would betray Him, all the disciples wondered, “Is it ME?”

As believers, we know that we love the Lord. We know we have by faith accepted His precious gift of salvation. Yet we must ask, as did the disciples, Have I betrayed the love of Christ? Can we say we are serving Him, sharing the gospel as commanded, and living for Him, as we should? Oh, how good to know we serve a loving and forgiving God.

JUNE 10, 2026—Keeping It Clean

Keeping It Clean

John 13:10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.

Jesus washed the disciples’ feet as an example of how we might live our lives. They lived a bit differently back then. When we take a bath, we simply go into the bathroom and jump into the tub or shower. When they would take a bath, they would often walk to the public bathhouse, bathe, and then walk back. When they returned home, they were clean except for their feet, so they would need to wash their feet.

We as believers have been washed in the blood of Jesus Christ and cleansed of our sins. Nevertheless, we walk daily in a sin-filled world and pick up particles of sin in our lives. To maintain fellowship with God, we must daily come and allow Him to wash off the sins of the world.
