What He Says, He Does
November 19, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Ezekiel 22:14
Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

Sometimes what we say we will do and what we do are two completely different things. It is not that we outright decided to lie to someone. We had no idea of the circumstances ahead of us. So, we occasionally make promises that are broken, leaving people discouraged with us. And yes, it happens to everyone. Everyone, that is, except God.

God’s promises are sure. He knows the future completely, so He can make promises and not worry about later circumstances. This is good. Then again, this can be terrifying. If you are today a born-again Christian, then this is wonderful. You are standing in the most secure place of all. All of God’s promises of a blessed home in heaven are sure. No circumstances can ever change it. He will provide for your needs and take care of you as you follow and serve Him. All the promises toward you as a Christian are true, and they will all come true. On the other hand, if you are not saved and standing outside of the will of God, all the promises for you are just as sure.

If God asked you the questions in today’s verse, what would your response be? Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee?” Do you think you can stand against an almighty God on Judgment Day and somehow win against the clear truths of your life? No friend, when God deals with you, He will deal with justice. You will be judged by your sin and found guilty. How can I say this for sure? God’s Word says so for sure, and as this verse says, if the Lord has spoken it, He will do it.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

There is good news if you do not know Christ as Saviour. You still can. Humble your heart, ask Him to forgive your sin, come into your heart, and be your Saviour. By faith believe on Jesus’ death and resurrection for salvation, and mean it, He will save you. Find a local Church and talk with the pastor about your decision. Friend, you just received many new promises that can never be broken. The Lord has spoken them, He will do them.

What promises for God’s people have your read in His Word lately?

Love Those Grandchildren
November 17, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Proverbs 17:6
Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

Just get around any grandparent, mention their grandchildren, and you will see a book full of pictures and hear an hour’s worth of tales on how wonderful and how magnificent their grandchildren are. These children can leap tall buildings in a single bound, diapers, and all.

I joke about it, but the Bible told us centuries ago this was how it is supposed to be. “Children’s Children are the crown of old men,” (including also, gracefully aging women). Grandparents will talk more about the accomplishments of a 5-year-old in kindergarten than about their own children, even if their child is a rocket scientist who went to the moon.

Furthermore, it is a great blessing for parents who are fortunate enough to be able to introduce their children to their grandparents. Grandma and Grandpa have so many more exciting stories to tell, and often, more time to tell them.

My wife, our children, and I are extremely fortunate in that we have had godly men to look to for examples in our lives. My father and my wife’s father were both wonderful examples of God-fearing men (in addition to being the family jokesters on occasion) before they passed into glory. We also had a third Fatherly example to look to as well, God, our Heavenly Father.

I count myself truly fortunate to have three Godly forefathers as examples to pass on to my children. Nevertheless, if I had only one, and if that one were God the Father, He would be enough. “The glory of children are their fathers.”  I sure love all the fathers in my life.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

Have you introduced your children to their forefathers? They have wonderful stories to tell. Some of which are recorded in the pages of the Bible by our heavenly Father. Some stories are recorded in the hearts of those of us who know and love Him.

What wonderful stories are you and your family missing out on?

Act Or Fact?
November 15 & 16, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Proverbs 15:8
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

Religion is often filled with pomp and ceremony. Things must be just so, or we are not happy. Our religious acts of worship toward God are often glorious reflections of our love, adoration, respect, and worship of who He is in our lives. I will in no way say that we should make little of our many means of worship. It teaches children and young Christians reverence for an Almighty Creator and the Lord of our lives. Our means of worship help us to refocus our lives and put God first again. These traditions of faith help us to have continuity with the churches of old in our forms of adoration toward the Father in Heaven. The only times these rituals become a problem are when the act of Religious Ceremony becomes the item of worship. For example, if taking communion is your worship of God, but then you never think of Him or live for Him in between these acts of worship, then the ceremony has become a problem. Why? Because it has become your worship of God, and this is not worship. It is an act of obedience and love for Him. It is part of our way of expressing worship to the Lord. However, it is not worship.

Worship includes your entire life. If you are living like the world and then believe somehow the act of coming to the communion table makes your worldly practices ok, there is a problem. As today’s verse says, “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord.” No matter what this sacrifice is. Does your giving tithes and offerings bring joy into your life because you love God and want Him to be able to reach others with your gift of love? Or do you feel like this is one more religious notch in my belt with God? God does not care about your sacrifice until you make the one most important sacrifice. Give yourself to Him. If you lay yourself on the altar of sacrifice to the Lord, then everything you do, say, and think is filtered through who God is in your life. Then your prayers become His delight.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

Everyone wants to delight God. I mean, who would not want to make God happy? Well, this verse tells you how you can do that. Live upright for Him. It is not about righteous ACTS, it’s about Holiness.

What do you see as living in Holiness?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

There will not be a Daily Devotion sent out on Sundays. Instead, we encourage you to attend your church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home, re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.

Building On Discipleship
November 14, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Romans 15:20-21
Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation: But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

Some churches today are growing while at the same time, others are dying. It appears that while one is gaining membership, another begins to lose all its members. This is in part because many people no longer have any loyalty to their church. If someone makes me mad, I will pack up my stuff and move down the road to the next church. There is no trying to work out differences, no trying to help a brother in need, or acting like a Christian and trying to help the church grow through tough times. It is easier to pack up than to pray up and easier to leave than to love.

You hear the excuse, “I just cannot talk with people.” Often, the truth should be stated as, “I just won’t talk with people involved in the problem, and I will only talk with those who will listen to me cry about my side of the problem.” Some say, “I just did not feel comfortable there anymore.” Well, God’s Word never said you were going to be comfortable all your life. My friend, if you are in a church where you always feel comfortable, then they probably are not preaching the Whole Counsel of God’s Word. You ought to feel convicted from time to time. You ought to be working through situations in your life. The Bible says the preaching is for the “perfecting of the saints,” not the patting on the back of the saints.

There are those rare occasions when you have tried to reconcile differences and cannot. Situations you have prayed about and tried to make things better, or the church has gone in a direction away from scripture. However, those occasions are few. Paul was telling the church; I do not want to build a church on another man’s work. We should win the lost to Christ and disciple them to live for God.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

God does call men and women to other churches to serve in various ministries. When this happens, it is usually a good parting of ways. Let’s spend most of our time getting people out of hell and not out of churches.

What do you see as a Biblical way to depart from a church?

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Ezekiel 13:3
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

You can hardly turn on the TV anymore without seeing some so-called TV Evangelist giving other real preachers a bad name. Why would I make such a claim? Well, it is because they often claim they have received extra revelations that are not in scripture. It is by claiming to have a word from God on someone’s healing. I never saw people in the Bible with telepathic revelations about others’ healing miles away. Jesus was the only one who knew the beginning from the end and could do so.

I turned the TV on the other day and there was a man begging for money (like this surprises you, right…) with a table full of pieces of paper. There were hundreds of slips of paper where people had called in with a deep need, pledging “x” amount of dollars, expecting a miracle from their so-called seed pledge. This TV charlatan said, “In a moment I will be laying my hands on this pile of prayer requests, and I hear in my spirit, (small “s” on purpose,) when I pray that millions of people are going to be healed all over the world.” Right behind the man making this claim was a large plate-glass window. Behind the window were operators on the phone, taking prayer pledges. In the front row of these operators was a young woman answering phones with a huge white neck brace. If this man can heal people all over the world, why did he not heal the woman right behind him, working for him? The reason is simple: he cannot heal people. Nor can I, or anyone else. God can, and still does heal, and He never charges a person one dime to do so. Their faith was not tied to their pocketbooks. “Woe unto the foolish prophets…” When a man stands to preach the Word, make sure he is preaching God’s Word, not his own.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

People want to believe in something so badly that they will often believe a lie. Do not fall for the fakes, fall in front of the Father. If you need healing, don’t go to a coliseum, go to Christ. He still does heal people. In His time, in His way, and by His will, He still works wonders in the lives of His own. Put your faith in Him. Get the Real Heal Deal.

Have you witnessed God’s healing power in you or in others?
