KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Numbers 7:89
And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto him
.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

More amazing than all that God has done for us and all He has prepared for us is the fact that He would even communicate with us at all. After everything we have done, and yes, continue to do, He still desires to speak with us. How amazing is that?

When Moses had done his best, as God had commanded him to do, his real reward was that God spoke to him. What peace and a sense of satisfaction it had to have been for a man who endeavored to do God’s will. For him to know at the end of the day, God was pleased with him. God spoke with him in that special Holy Place.

It probably should be amazing to us as well that God would ever desire to speak to us, or even hear from us at all. Just think about it for a moment. Please think of how we treat people around us who have done some silly little insignificant thing that has made us mad. We either yell at them or often will just shut them out completely from our lives. Now consider how in the past we have treated the loving Holy God. It is humbling to imagine God, in Holy perfection, would have a real desire to speak with us, to comfort us, to hold us up, and to love us. Yet, after all we have done to Him, He still loves us. How much? Well in Romans 5:8 it says, But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

Today, that special Holy Place where God meets with us is in our hearts. No longer does God dwell in the tabernacle built with hands, nor on the lid of an ark. He, through the Holy Spirit, dwells in each one of us who know Him as Saviour. And guess what? He still wants to talk with us today. He does this through His Word and His Spirit. Will you spend a special time with Him today? He is waiting.

Will you spend a special time with Him today?

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

John 4:48
Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

I read a story of two ministers who were standing at the side of the road holding a sign that read “Turn Back, The End Is Near. A driver, seeing the sign, said as he drove past looking in his rear-view mirror, “There are those religious fanatics again, trying to scare people into religion.” About that time, he realized the bridge ahead was out and he slammed on the brakes, but it was too late. He and his car went headlong down into the river below. Hearing the noise, the two ministers went over to see if they could be of any help, but it was too late. The car and driver had been swept downstream in the river’s current and out of sight. The one minister turned and said to the other,” I told you we should have just put “Bridge Is Out” on the sign!”

It seems today we are telling as many people as possible about the coming disaster of a life of unforgiven sin. However, as the driver who was previously mentioned, most people never hear the story of the love of God. Rather they think we are trying to talk them into RELIGION. Religion will not save you. Only a RELATIONSHIP with Christ will do that. Then, when those who refused the love of God through His Son Jesus do die, I can almost imagine them crying out, “I never saw any sign of this coming!”

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

The sign has been given. Jesus was lifted up on a cross over two thousand years ago. He was buried in a cold dark tomb. Three days later, He rose from that tomb. He ascended into heaven and is pleading the cause of the saints today. You want a sign. How is this one? JESUS LOVED YOU ENOUGH TO DIE FOR YOUR SINS. ACCEPT HIM, AND LIVE. “There’s your sign.”

What other signs might you have seen in Scripture?

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest
.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

Work hard, keep your nose to the grindstone, and make hay while the sun shines. These are sayings many of us heard when we were children. This has often been referred to as the American way. If you stay out of trouble and work hard, you can be anything you want to be. People have proven this to be true over and over again.

However, it seems today, the American way has become waiting for a handout. Looking for someone else to care for life’s needs. I know we have all had hard times and may need occasional help. This is often when the Church you are a member of will also step in to help one another during these times of need. I am not speaking here of those who need occasional assistance, those who are disabled, or people who cannot work. Yet sadly today we find many able-bodied people who have made living by handouts a way of life. Phrases such as, “play while you are young,” “you only go around once,” and “live with gusto,” seem to leave out the idea of planning for tomorrow. The Bible is clear, we are to plan financially, physically, and spiritually.

Scripture also tells us of rewards in heaven if we are diligent to follow God’s leading. Nevertheless, some Christians, who are good providers here in this life, have set up nothing for the life ahead. Matthew 6:19-21 says, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

Spring is almost here. Most everyone is glad after a cold winter. However, with spring come ants. Everywhere you look, you will see them running here and there. They will start early preparing for next winter. As you see them running around, think to yourself, am I preparing also? Preparing for all that is to come.

How are you preparing for eternity?

Would You Like To Be First?

March 3, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Luke 24:8-9
And they remembered his words, And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

For whatever reason it always seems that I can never manage to be first at things. I am always in the wrong line at the grocery store and end up waiting for hours as someone searches for his or her coupons and correct change. Searching down to the penny, which is buried somewhere in the bottom of their purse or pocket. Or at the drive-through bank when it clearly says on the window only one or two transactions, the person in front of me wants to do a year’s worth of banking today. I just cannot seem to be first.

However, sometimes awesome responsibilities come with being first. In the passage prior to today’s verses, women who loved Jesus had come to His tomb. They were the first to find it open and empty. In addition to being empty of the body of Christ, they also found this tomb was now inhabited by two angels who told them that Jesus had risen from the dead. Now what? They are the first witnesses of the resurrection of Christ. Do they keep this incredible information to themselves until they hear of someone else who has seen and heard something similar? Do they tell someone and run the risk of sounding crazy? What should they do?

They did the only thing they could do. They shared the great news that Christ our Saviour had risen from the tomb as He had said. Regardless of what the people around them might think or say, they had to tell someone. THEY WERE FIRST!

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

Guess what? We have the same good news to share today. Our Saviour has risen from the tomb. No other religion can make this claim to have a living risen Saviour. Only we who follow Jesus can share this well-documented truth. Are you waiting for someone else to say it first before you might say something? Are you afraid people might think you are crazy? Let me ask you this. What will they think one second after they are dead if you do not tell them? Be the first one to see their eyes when they accept Christ and His salvation. Be First.

Have you ever been the one to share the gospel of Christ
and see someone accept Him as Saviour?

What Is A Name Worth?

March 1 & 2, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Psalm 54:1 Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

When I served as a volunteer member of “On Call Chaplains” at our local hospital, they issued me a card. On that card was my picture, my title with the hospital, and my name. The card had a magnetic strip on the back, and it allowed me the privilege of getting in and out of most doors within the Hospital. With such privilege, I also carried certain responsibilities. I was not to share the card, lose it, or share information about patients I may have learned because of my position there. Although I had this card, there were restricted areas within the Hospital I could not get into. Why? Because my name had not been entered into the system as approved to be in these areas.

In today’s verse, we hear David crying out to God. He says, “Save Me.” How is it that he believes that God can save him? It is because of whom David knows God to be. His name alone shows the authority to save. Just the word GOD has such a special meaning to it. Some people have tried to attach this title to other items and call them gods. However, these other things cannot, and will not ever be the same as our real God. Deep in everyone’s heart, people know there is but one real and true God. David knew and said, “Save me, O God, by thy name.”

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

God gave all power to His Son Jesus. We find in the Bible we are to pray in the precious name of Jesus. We include His name in baptisms. In the name of Jesus people have been healed. Demons have been cast out simply by uttering the powerful name of Jesus. In Phil. 2:10 it says, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow.” If you are a child of God, you were changed forever, for all eternity, through this name. What is a name worth? If it is the right name, it is worth EVERYTHING.

What does the name “JESUS” mean to you?
