Our Eternal Kingdom

DECEMBER 14, 2021

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Psalm 132:11 The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD:

God has promised to David an eternal, never-ending kingdom from his heirs. Now how could that possibly be? There is no kingdom that lasts forever. Even David had to be smart enough to realize that. All he would have to do is investigate the past and see how kingdoms rise and fall.

This is one of the many prophecies we find given of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. It was through the line of David that baby Jesus came. He would be David’s successor and rightful heir to the throne. However, the throne referred to in today’s verse is not an earthly kingdom’s throne. It’s the Everlasting Kingdom of God.

When thinking about the frailty of earthly kingdoms one might wonder how long our country can last. Looking back, we see no governments nor kingdoms last forever. Most had their downfall when they began to allow blatant sin to rule. It has been said the fall of the Roman Empire can be linked closely with their tolerance and acceptance of homosexuality and sexual promiscuity. If true, what might God think of our nation today? We have so-called Churches ordaining and placing into leadership openly practicing homosexuals in what they think is God’s House. I have sad news for them. God does not bless a mess. He will not be mocked. God does forgive sin, but never condones its practice. Therefore, I would repeat a question, which should be echoing in the hearts of all true believers. How much longer can this country last on the path it is going
.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

We need to look to and seek after an eternal Kingdom. Set our sights on things above. Seek first the Kingdom of God and His RIGHTEOUSNESS. I just love the song that says, “This world is not my Home, I’m just a passing through….” Let’s do our best to help this world while here, knowing we are not here forever. As true Christians, we are citizens of an eternal kingdom and Christ is our King forever.

God Builds People

DECEMBER 13, 2021

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Ezra 6:15 And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD:

As you read today’s verse it is easy to forget all that went into the words, “was finished.” The Lord’s house was finished. Yet, as we look on what is complete, we ought to also remember the toil that went into those words.

The first people who returned to build this temple did so about twenty-three years before this day. The foundation had been laid around twenty years before. The building was started in 538 BC and finished around March of 515 BC. The actual construction time was about four- and one-half years. The people who worked on this place had suffered ridicule and persecution during their time of construction. This verse seems too simple for all the work that had been done over such a long period.

Yet, we dare not forget that this is often what God wants His people to realize. That the simplicity of God sometimes takes the efforts of man. Then when it is finished, we look back and see God’s hand at work through it all.

All the years of this construction, traveling and planning, pleading, withstanding ridicule and persecution had once again brought these people to a place where they were prepared to worship God. The time may have seemed long to man, but God knew it was just the right amount of time. You see, while the people were simply building a building for God, God was doing the hard work of building a people for Himself. Sometimes building people takes a long, long time.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

It may seem at times that God does not answer our requests or acknowledge our plans at the time we ask for them. Remember, everything we do must be done according to God’s time. Furthermore, His timing is always right.

Up The Right Tree?

DECEMBER 11 & 12, 2021

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD:

Family Trees take on many shapes and designs. In fact, some of them look more like family bushes than trees. However, have you ever given much thought to whether your family tree is an eternal tree, or is it a tree that will wither and die? You see, the life of a tree is not dependent upon how many branches and leaves are on the tree. The life of the tree depends on the root system and the nutrients that are obtained from those roots.

If you want a family tree that will stand the test of time, you need to have the right roots. If your roots are planted in shallow ground such as things that only matter today, then when the winds and storms of life blow your family tree will not be very stable. But then again, if your tree is well rooted in God’s Word, something that will last for eternity, then your family tree will live on and survive.

How can you make this happen? Well first you need to be rooted well yourself. You must know Jesus as your Saviour. Then, as our text today says, “he that winneth souls is wise.” Share with your family the gifts and grace of God.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

If you starve a tree, give it no water and no light, it will die. Jesus said that He was the water that would never run dry and the light of the world. If you feed your family tree with the right water and the right light, it will grow and flourish into a beautiful eternal tree.

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

There will not be a Daily Devotion sent out on Sundays. Instead, we encourage you to attend your church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.

Get The Recipe!

DECEMBER 10, 2021

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Psalm 128:1-2 Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD:

It is the Holiday season and people are looking everywhere for recipes. One recipe, which people have been looking for years for, is a recipe for success. Another thing we hear at this time of year is that we should have Peace on Earth and Goodwill toward Men. Well folks, here in this little chapter of the Bible, we have found a recipe for success and a way to find peace in five steps.

Step 1. Worship The Lord. The phrase “feareth the LORD” refers not to a frightened fear, but a respectful and worshipful heart.

Step 2. Walk In His Ways. If you truly respect who God is, it is not hard to walk in His ways and obey His guidelines in life.

Step 3. Work. Work brings about satisfaction. It is exactly how God designed us. We want to be doing something that makes a difference. It also is a way for God to supply for our needs in this life.

Step 4. Enjoy Life, as God Created It. God never intended for us to walk around with sad faces all the time. We are to enjoy life. If we remember who God is and follow His plan for our life, it will truly be a happier life.

Step 5. It will bring a Calm to your Soul. When we find out that God’s way is a better way than our way and His way is always right, we find life is easier and better. In addition, all these things together bring about PEACE to our heart.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

How can we enjoy Peace and Joy in our Life? Look to the author and finisher of our faith. It is He and he alone that is the Peace that passeth all understanding. He is the Joy that will flood your soul. He IS… Therefore, we can be.

DECEMBER 09, 2021 – Party Or Priestly?

Party Or Priestly?

DECEMBER 09, 2021

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Lamentations 5:7-8 Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities. Servants have ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand.

THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD:

When our forefathers of the United States of America began the framework of this great country, they did so based on principles written in God’s Word. It was truly a nation intended to be under the authority of the One and Only True God. In fact, most of the colonies and states required a person be a God fearing individual before they could run or be considered for office. Today it is very much the opposite. Crooks, liars, actors, or thieves have a better chance in politics today than anyone who might stand up and say, “I believe in the one true God.” The belief seems to be that crooks, liars, actors, and such are everywhere so they must represent the people in general. The fear of the masses today seems to be “Godly people are too far right and would bring in a right-wing agenda.”

Friends, many of us might have to admit, our fathers have sinned. They allowed this to get this way. They voted for their pocketbooks and not their moral beliefs. They voted party line not priestly living. They voted for a Charismatic Personality over Christian Leader. Our fathers have sinned, and we are bearing their iniquities. Servants, or another way to say that would be “The Lost” have rule over us. Psalm 12:8 says, “The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.” Oh, how true it was then and how the same is true today. The more we vote for sinful men and women into leadership, the worse it will always get. None of them can deliver us out of this sinfulness. No program, pledge, policy, or platform can bring about righteousness. Only God can do that.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

I know many people have quit reading already. They want to bury their head in the sand and say, “there should be a separation from the church and state.” Sadly, it was this type of thinking which got us here, and that thinking will only make things worse. Let’s vote for God when we have a chance.
