JANUARY 8 & 9, 2022 – It’s Special!

It’s Special!

JANUARY 8 & 9, 2022
Daily Reading – Genesis 15-17 / Matthew 6:1-15
Daily Reading – No Reading on Sunday

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

“Hallowed be thy Name.” The term Hallowed is not one we use too often today. However, Hallowed is so important in this prayer. You see God’s name is special. Hallowed means set apart from all others, Holy, Sanctified, or Pure. It is not like Frank or George. It is Special.

It says in the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20:7, “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” In essence He is saying, My Name is Special, treat it so.

Sadly, today we all too often here people use Jesus, Oh God, or Christ, as part of comments that have nothing to do with Him.

WHAT DO YOU SAY:

How can we Hallow His name in our heart,
and help others do the same?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.

JANYUARY 07, 2022 – It’s An Earth Thing

It’s An Earth Thing

JANUARY 07, 2022
Daily Reading – Genesis 12-14 / Matthew 5

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Some things happen to both born-again and the lost, and there is nothing we can do to change that. As our verse says, when the sun shines, it shines on everyone. When the rains pour, everybody gets wet. When the winds blow, floods come, and snow falls, we all are subject to it. So, it is with other things as well. We all get old, all face illness, and all must die.

My friend, it is an earth thing. While here however, we can choose what happens in the life to come. The saved have chosen Christ and therefore, a life with Him where many of these things are done away. The lost by default choose eternal torment.

WHAT DO YOU SAY:

What choice have you made for your
eternal life to come?

JANYUARY 06, 2022 – Gloom And Doom!

Gloom And Doom!

JANUARY 06, 2022
Daily Reading – Genesis 9-11 / Matthew 4

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 4:16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Winters have always been a gloomy time in Michigan. It seems as if the sun just goes behind the clouds and hibernates until spring. Many people get feelings of depression and weariness because of this lack of sun. This is the picture we are to get from the phrase, “shadow of death.” Standing in a shadow is caused by something coming between the sun and us. How gloomy it is to stand in the shadow of death.

When Jesus steps into their life it says, “light is sprung up.” As the sun is refreshing on a gloom filled day, the SON is also refreshing on a doom filled life. How might we let the light of Christ shine through us to brighten someone’s life today?

WHAT DO YOU SAY:

How might we let the light of Christ shine through us to brighten someone’s life today?

JANUARY 05, 2022 – Straight Is The Way

Straight Is The Way

JANUARY 05, 2022
Daily Reading – Genesis 6-8 / Matthew 3

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Proverbs 25:14-17 Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain. By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone. Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it. Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour’s house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

The term “make his paths straight” comes from Isaiah 40:3. In those days when a King traveled, there would be those who went before him clearing out rocks and debris and leveling the roadways to make his travels smooth and trouble-free. John the Baptist had a task to perform. To prepare a spiritual road for Christ.

Today there are many obstacles blocking people’s pathway to Christ. False religions, sinful lifestyles, vices of many natures, and more. We as believers also need to make a clear path for the King of Kings to enter  into the hearts of man.

WHAT DO YOU SAY:

What can we do to “make his paths straight”
into the hearts of man today?

JANYUARY 04, 2022 – What Do You Call Him?

What Do You Call Him?

JANUARY 04, 2022
Daily Reading – Genesis 3-5 / Matthew 2

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 1:21 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

In Matthew 2:15 it says Jesus was called out of Egypt. Egypt has long been a biblical picture of the world. We find here that Jesus gave a great example to all humanity. As did Israel, Jesus came out of Egypt, a picture of coming out of the world and its worldliness.

In verse 23 it says He was called a Nazarene. The people of Nazareth were not looked upon fondly. To be called a Nazarene was a sign of contempt. Christians too are often unfairly labeled and are called names by the world after accepting Christ. It really matters not what the world calls Jesus.

WHAT DO YOU SAY:

    The most important question is,
what do you call Him?
