Which Side Of The Fence

FEBRUARY 24, 2022
Daily Reading – Leviticus 20- 22 / Mark 3

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 3:24-25 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Over the years, I have told hundreds of people, be cautious whom you marry. Be sure your mate for life believes as you do. I tell people going into business, be careful with whom you collaborate. I have seen churches, for financial or growth reasons, accept anyone into the membership, regardless of if doctrinal beliefs agree or not. A divided kingdom cannot stand.

The worst is when we ourselves become divided in our own soul, not knowing what we believe. No church alone can fix that. Only God and His Word can do that.

In James 1:8 it says, “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” In Eph. 4:14 Paul says not to be, “carried about with every wind of doctrine.” We need to be on one side of the fence or another.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

The question is, “Which side of the fences are you on?

FEBRUARY 23, 2022 – Made For Man

Made For Man

FEBRUARY 23, 2022
Daily Reading – Leviticus 18-19 / Mark 2

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 2:27-28 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

What was the sabbath, the day of rest, made for? Well, our verse today tells us. Jesus Himself tells us.

The sabbath, or a day of rest, was made for man. Man was not made to worship the day; the day was made and set apart to help the man. To have a day of rest.

It might be good for us to pay attention to what God has designed and desired for His creation. It is God’s desire and plan that we NOT work 24/7 and have nothing left physically or spiritually for our family and for God.

So, if it is God’s will that we should rest, who do you think perhaps would want us busy all the time with no time to relax, no time for family, no time or energy left to even worship the God who gave us the day?

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Not hard to figure out, is it?

FEBRUARY 22, 2022 – The Way To Start A Day

The Way To Start A Day

FEBRUARY 22, 2022
Daily Reading – Leviticus 15-17 / Mark 1:21 – 45

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

People will often share with their pastor the troubles they encounter in life. They include financial, physical, emotional, relational, and occupational. When I talk with them about their bible reading and prayer life, they often will look at me with a puzzled look as if to say, “What does that have to do with my situation?”

I am not saying that prayer and bible reading will immediately fix everything. However, it will always help everything. If we would start our day as Jesus began His, it can make our perspective on our situations a lot different. The problems may still be there, but we know God is there in the midst of our situation with us. He can bring a great peace even during our stormy situations.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

How do you choose to start your day?

FEBRUARY 21, 2022 – Still The Same Message

Still The Same Message

FEBRUARY 21, 2022
Daily Reading – Leviticus 14 / Mark 1:1-20

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

I went to a Bible Conference one time and heard a preacher tell everyone, “You do not need to repent to be saved, just believe in Jesus.” WHAT, just believe? Well in that case the devil is saved. He believes there is a Jesus.

Salvation is more than believing there is a Jesus, it is believing on Him. If you did not have to repent, someone should have told Jesus.

Believing there is a Jesus is not enough. Jesus said we are to believe the gospel. That is the good news that Jesus came to die and shed His blood for your sin. Not so that you can live in sin, so you can live free from the power of sin. Jesus said, repent and believe.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Who are you going to believe?
A man who leaves people in their sin,
or a Saviour who frees people from their sin?

FEBRUARY 19 & 20, 2022 – They Did Run

They Did Run

FEBRUARY 19 & 20, 2022
Daily Reading – Leviticus 12-13 / Matthew 28
Daily Reading – No Reading on Sunday

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 28:8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

The women, at the tomb of Jesus, were met by an angel. He told them; Jesus had risen from the dead; go tell others about it. It says, “And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.”

I know there are a many deep theological things in this passage, but what caught my attention was the news caused them to go quickly, to run.

The news is still the same today, Jesus is not in the tomb, He has risen. The command is still the same today, go quickly and tell others, He is coming again, and you shall see Him.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

However, is our response the same today?
Are we going quickly?
Do we run to the world with this glorious news?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.
