DECEMBER 20, 2022 – Both Bitter And Sweet

  Both Bitter And Sweet

DECEMBER 20, 2022
Daily Reading – Micah 1-4 / Revelation 9

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Revelation 10:9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

At the end of Revelation 10, John is told to do a strange thing. He is told to eat the little book which contains the words of God concerning the earth. He is also told it will taste good in his mouth, but will ultimately make him sick, and in verse 10, it does.
So it is with the book of the Revelation to John. The content of this book is sweet to we who are believers in Christ Jesus. For us, this is the end of sin’s reign on the earth. The end of trials and tribulations. It is the beginning of an eternal life with Christ. Oh, how sweet indeed. Yet for those we love who do not know Christ, these same revelations bring sorrow and sadness. It makes us sick to know some will not be there with us.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Isn’t it time to tell them today before it’s too late?

DECEMBER 19, 2022 – Woe To All Left Behind

  Woe To All Left Behind

DECEMBER 19, 2022
Daily Reading – Jonah / Revelation 7-8

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Revelation 8:13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

The Revelation of John can be a scary book if you plan to be here during the tribulation days described. During these seven years it will be a horrible time to be on earth. As the angel said in Revelation 8:13, “…Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth…”

The thing is no one really must be here. I know there will be thousands who will not heed the warning before it is too late. But you do not have to be one who is left behind. If we put our faith in Jesus, He will deliver us from this “wrath of the Lamb” as Revelation 6:16 calls it. 1 Thessalonians 1:10 “And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Do you really want to face God’s wrath?

DECEMBER 17 & 18, 2022 – How Long, O Lord?

  How Long, O Lord?

DECEMBER 17 & 18, 2022
Daily Reading – Obadiah / Revelation 6

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Revelation 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

This is a question that both those saved by grace, and the lost sinner wants to know. How long, O Lord?.
For many who are lost, who have clearly heard and understood the gospel, they wonder how long they might have to play in sin before it is too late. They really do not love God, nor do they want to give their life over to Christ. All they really want to know is how long can they do what they want and at a last minute say a prayer and not go to hell. Problem with that is an insincere prayer from an unrepentant heart does not save you. For the saved in this world, the question is how much longer before we will see our blessed Saviour and those who have gone on before into His rest.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Which, “How Long” are you asking about?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.

DECEMBER 16, 2022 – We Were Made For Him

  We Were Made For Him

DECEMBER 16, 2022
Daily Reading – Amos 7-9 / Revelation 4-5

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Revelation 4:11 is a verse we must all remember every day of our life. We were made for Christ. Christ was not made for us.
I am so glad Jesus came to earth and paid the price for our sin debt. I am glad He rose again and went to heaven to prepare a place for us. However, that does not mean Jesus was made for us. He made himself a lamb and sacrifice for us by being obedient to God the Father. We are made for Him. He is not to serve us; we are to serve Him. He is worthy of our honor and praise. The verse also says we are created for His pleasure. Which causes me to stop and ask myself this question. Am I pleasing to God?

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

If we are created for His pleasure, do we bring pleasure to Him?

DECEMBER 15, 2022 – Are We Shutting God Out?

  Are We Shutting God Out?

DECEMBER 15, 2022
Daily Reading – Amos 4-6 / Revelation 3

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Many have read today’s verse as God knocking at the heart door of the lost soul. While it is true, He does call all to repentance, this verse is in a chapter talking to the churches. How sad to imagine Christ knocking at the door of His own church to gain entrance..
Sadly, many churches today are filled with worldly pleasures. Attempting to bring in the masses to fund the programs, some have allowed an unsaved world to dictate that the church should be run more as a business, than a body. The pleasures of the world may bring temporary pleasure, but it leaves us indifferent toward God’s lasting fulfillment.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

If we find ourselves indifferent toward church, God, prayer, and the bible, is it possible we are closing a door on God?
