There Is HOPE

FEBRUARY 26, 2026
Daily Reading—Leviticus 26-27 /  Mark 5

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 5:19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

In Mark 5, we find a man who had tormented his family and townspeople to the point that they wanted nothing to do with him. They had gone so far as to tie him up and leave him in the tombs. They turned their backs on him in the hope that he might die. Yet, Jesus helped him, and he became a testimony of God’s grace.

Still today, we have those who are a menace to society. They say and do hurtful things until even those who love them want nothing to do with them. Often, society gives up hope, and they, in turn, lose hope. We must remember, with Jesus, there is HOPE! There is nothing God cannot do and no one He does not love. Who knows, they might be His greatest witness someday.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Who do you know in need of that kind of help?
Will you commit to praying daily for God’s work in their lives?

IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:

Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?

Within this reading, do I find a CHALLENGE for my life?

What actions will I take today or this week to meet this challenge?

What Do We Listen To?

FEBRUARY 25, 2026
Daily Reading—Leviticus 25 /  Mark 4:21-41

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Today, we are bombarded with all kinds of things to listen to. Music, television programs, podcasts, telephones, and on and on the list goes. There is usually some sound or noise going on every day, all day long. To the point now that many people begin to feel uncomfortable if there is not some background noise going on all the time.

Jesus warned those who would listen to Him in our verse today to take heed to what they hear. That is still very good advice for today. Who and what we listen to will make a difference in what we think and how we live our lives.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?:

What will you be listening to today?
Is it helping you or hurting you?

IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:

Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?

Within this reading, do I find a CHALLENGE for my life?

What are the things I WILL DO today or this week to accept that CHALLENGE?

A Sower Sows

FEBRUARY 24, 2026
Daily Reading—Leviticus 23-24 /  Mark 4:1-20

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 4:14 The sower soweth the word.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

In the parable that Jesus shared with the disciples and those who would listen, there are many variables. There is a wayside crowd that never accepts the word. There are the stony ground groups who hear the word but never do anything with it. Then there are those who are in the thorns and cannot let go of the world. Finally, there are those who hear the word, receive it, and by it, they are gloriously changed.

However, there is one thing that never changes. The Sower is always sowing the seed. No matter where it falls or how it grows, his job is simply sowing the seed. Our job as Christians is not to make the seed grow. Our responsibility is to continually sow the seed.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?:

Where will you cast the seed of God’s word today?

Which Side Of The Fence

FEBRUARY 23, 2026
Daily Reading—Leviticus 20-22 /  Mark 3

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 3:24-25 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Over the years, I have told hundreds of people to be cautious about whom they marry. Be sure your mate for life believes as you do. I tell people going into business, be careful with whom you collaborate. I have seen churches, for financial or numerical reasons, accept folks into membership, whether their doctrinal beliefs agree or not. A divided kingdom cannot stand.

The worst is when we ourselves become divided in our own souls, not knowing what we believe. No church alone can fix that. Only God and His Word can do that. In James 1:8, it says, “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” In Eph. 4:14, Paul says not to be “carried about with every wind of doctrine.” We need to be on one side of the fence or another.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?:

The question is, “Which side of the fence are you on?

FEBRUARY 20, 2026
Daily Reading—Leviticus 15-17 /  Mark 1:21-45

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

WHAT I’VE NOTICED

People will often share with their pastor the troubles they encounter in life. They include financial, physical, emotional, relational, and occupational. When I talk with them about their Bible reading and prayer life, they often will look at me with a puzzled look as if to say, “What does that have to do with my situation?”

I am not saying that prayer and Bible reading will immediately fix everything. However, it will always help everything. If we were to start our day as Jesus began His, it could make our perspective on our situations a lot different. The problems may still be there, but we know God is there in the midst of our situation with us. He can bring great peace even during our stormy situations.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

How do you choose to start your day?

IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:
