What Should We Do?

February 11, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Luke 3:10
And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

Everywhere you turn, and almost every day you will hear people asking this same question. What shall we do?

What shall we do about violence?
What shall we do about the needy?
What shall we do about broken homes?
What shall we do about drugs?
What shall we do about teen pregnancy?
What shall we do about sinful lifestyles?

What? What? Is there an answer? Is there anything or anyone who can help? The problem is today, people do not want to hear the truth. The answer to all these problems is today, as it has been for centuries, JESUS. When people give their lives to Jesus and truly serve Him, we see a multitude of what were problems, turned around and lives are changed. These past situations can then be used to glorify God. We must turn to God by faith in His Son Jesus.

Most people today, however, want facts not faith. “Show me the facts,” they say. Well, if they would hear them, the facts are there. The fact is Jesus is the way the truth and the life. The fact is He died to cleanse us and help us overcome sin. The fact is if we were to spend more time winning people to Christ and teaching them the biblical way of life, there could be less violence, broken homes, drug problems, and teen pregnancy. The problem may be that people are just not listening. On the other hand, the problem may be that we as Christians are simply not telling them.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

As today unfolds, listen to your family, co-workers, classmates, and friends. Listen for the question, “What can we do about…” or “What should be done about…” When you hear those words, you can be confident in telling them that JESUS is the answer. In every situation, you will be right. JESUS is always the answer.

How can we help people in these situations?”

It Will Come To Pass

February 4, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Exodus 16:10
And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud
.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

In this chapter, the phrases “came to pass” and “come to pass” appear five times. As we continue reading the Bible, we see that everything God promised would happen indeed occurred. Each prophecy came to pass exactly as He said it would. Everything. There is nothing, not one single promise God made to the Children of Israel, that did not come to fruition.

This truth continues throughout the entire book we call the Bible. He has never promised something that has not come true exactly as He said it would and when He said it would. Isn’t it great to know we have a God we can rely on to be correct 100% of the time? If He says it will come to pass, it will.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

As we read the future promises of God, we can rejoice in the fact that we know they will all be fulfilled exactly as He promised. Which for the redeemed in Christ Jesus means a home in Heaven someday. If you do not know Christ, He will fulfill the promise to save you if you will let Him. However, if you choose not to allow Him to redeem you from your sin, then you must also remember that ALL OF HIS PROMISES WRITTEN IN HIS WORD WILL BE FULFILLED EXACTLY AS HE PROMISED! All of them.

What promises from God’s Word
are you most excited about?”

Are We Changing Scripture?

January 28, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Psalm 25:4
Show me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

In today’s verse, there is a three-letter word that many people seem to want to change into a two-letter word. Do you know what word that is? Well, if you can count to three then you know there is only one word it could be. It is the word “THY.” Many people would like to have this verse read, show me “MY” ways, and teach me “MY” paths. Let me try to illustrate this.

Today you will find many Christian people interested in prophecy, and things to come. That in itself is not bad. However, it bears that we ask the question, why are they seeking this prophetic wisdom? Is it to help teach others of the pending doom, or are they just concerned about their own future path? If you stop to think about it, we as Christians will not be here anyway when much of the book of Revelation that God shared with John takes place. So why then is there all the great concern? The Bible far more often tells us to share the gospel than to worry about our tomorrow. There is much more in God’s Word about how we should live for Christ today than there is about the coming apocalypse. However, if you want to fill a sanctuary put together a study on end times and people come running.

Why, well I believe it is because most people are more interested in MY path and MY way than they are with THY path or THY way. If we can ever get our eyes off ourselves to see the Saviour, it will transform how we live our entire lives.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

Today, as you work, play, study, shop, or whatever you do, begin to ask God to direct you in His ways. Remember, if anyone could be a great guide in the path of your life, it would be the one who created both the path and the one who walks it.

So what will it be for you today, MY or THY?

Prayers Matter…

January 21, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Proverbs 21:1
The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

Elections always bring out the, well…, let us just say it brings out the interesting side of people. Some folks are for one candidate for their reasons, and some are for another for their own reasons. If you ask either of them why they like one candidate better than the next, each one believes they are right. After the dust settles and Election Day is done, it is sometimes hard to want to support the person put in office because of all the negative things that have been said about them during election season.

One thing that may help is remembering today’s verse. No matter which party they represent, or what agendas they uphold, the Bible says God is still in control. They might lean one way or another, and at times even make huge mistakes. However, the end of all things will come out exactly as God desires. The ultimate decision for how things will end is the Lords. Therefore, I guess when you and I pray for our leaders to do the things that we think are right, we must also remember, that if they do something different, God has allowed it for this time.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

Remember always to pray for the leaders in your life. Governors, Senators, Congressional Representatives, Mayors, The President, Vice President, Generals, and, oh yes, never forget their Spouses. Remember their hearts and our futures are always in God’s hands.

What will you pray for God to do
through the Leaders in your life?”
