What Will Be Formed

Daily Reading – 1 Samuel 18-20 / Luke 20:1-26

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Luke 20:18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

  I live near a beach in Michigan. There is lots of sand everywhere. One thing we did as children was to fall back into the sand, have someone pull us up, and see what form we left in the sand. If you ever fell back, and hit a rock well, it hurt. Why, well rocks do not take on the form of what is fallen on them. Rocks instead will reform you, and sometimes that really hurts.

  Jesus is the Rock of our salvation, the cornerstone we build our lives upon. When we fall on Jesus, we take on the shape of Jesus. I do not want a God who changes for me. He is perfect and I am so far from perfect. I want a God who instead changes me into His likeness.

Something Will Praise Him

Daily Reading – 1 Samuel 16-17 / Luke 19:28-48

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Luke 19:40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    The Bible says the Lord not only deserves our praise but will get it from something if we ever stop. David said in Psalm 34:1 “I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

     In Revelation 4:8 Johns says, “And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.”

    The Lord is worthy of our praise. We should not let some rock with no soul, shout louder than we do. God saved us from hell. He is our cornerstone of salvation. He set our feet on a Solid Rock and upon that Rock built His church.

Do You Want To See Jesus

Daily Reading – 1 Samuel 14-15 / Luke 19:1-27

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Luke 19:3-4 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass
that way.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

     “Zacchaeus was a wee little man a wee little man was He. He climbed up in a sycomore tree for the Lord he wanted to see.” Most children who have gone to Sunday School have sung this little song. One thing that sticks out to me in today’s passage and the song is that Jesus was coming, and he wanted to see him.

    For many people, the idea of Jesus coming by is a sobering one. If they found out that He was coming to their house, there would be some cleaning up to do. Friend, Jesus already sees what is in your house. Even more important, He sees what is in your heart.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

If you heard Jesus was passing by, would you run to get a better view, or try to hide some things from His view?
Are you ready to meet Jesus?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

They Knew He Knew

APRIL 29, 2022
Daily Reading – 1 Samuel 12-13 / Luke 18:31-43

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Luke 18:34 And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

      The disciples in this passage heard Jesus speak, understood His words, but did not fully comprehend the meanings of what He said. Nevertheless, they continued to follow Him. Why? They knew He knew.

     Over years of reading and studying scripture, I have found one thing to be true, I am still learning. I have read the entire bible yearly for many years. With every reading, I learn more about God’s Word than I knew before. I have never let the parts I did not totally grasp stop me from growing by what I did understand.

     I am so glad I never quit before God revealed the next great thing to me. I know He knows, and always look forward to what He will teach me next.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Have you committed in your heart not to quit on God too soon?
