Get Your Story Straight

MARCH 18, 2022
Daily Reading – Numbers 34-36 / Mark 14:43-72

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 14:57-59 And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying, We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands. But neither so did their witness agree together.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

One of the ways law officials find out if a group of people are telling the truth or not is by placing them in separate rooms and asking them about the same story. If their stories line up, there is a good chance they are telling the truth. If not, they are probably lying.

The men accusing Christ in our verses could not get their stories straight. Why, because they were lying

The world needs to hear the truth about Jesus Christ. It is so great to have the Word of God, which never contradicts itself. All the authors in various times, and places, tell the same story in all 66 books of the bible. Why? It is the truth.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Shouldn’t we thank God for the
straight truth about His love and grace?

March 17, 2022 – Is It I?

Is It I?

March 17, 2022
Daily Reading – Numbers 32-33 / Mark 14:17-42

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 14:18-19 And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me. And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I?

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

You would think after walking with Jesus, living with Him, serving, and trusting in Him, the disciples would know if they loved Him or not. That after three years they might know in their hearts if they would betray Him. Yet Jesus said one of them would betray Him, and they ALL asked the same question. “Is It I?”

That probably is a good question for us all to ask. You might be thinking, “What, I would never betray His love.” Yet, if we are honest with ourselves, how many of us can say we have never committed a sin?

When we sin, we in a sense betray the love that Jesus displayed for us on the cross of Calvary. I am so glad we serve a loving, forgiving Lord and Saviour.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

If you ask the question, “Is It I,” and the answer comes back yes, what will you do?   (Hint: 1 John 1:9)

Daily Reading – Numbers 30-31 / Mark 14:1-16

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 14:2 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

If there were any group of people in the bible that we as Christians would not want to be associated with it would be those who sought to put Jesus to death. That is what the chief priests and the scribes were planning to do. However, they decided not to do it on the feast day because it might upset the people.

I wonder how many times in our lives we do things not for the right reasons, to glorify God, but for the wrong reason, because it might upset the people. We will not sing a song, we do not raise our hand in praise, we may not befriend a person someone else does not like all because it may offend another person.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Are we any better than these Chief Priests and scribes when we live to serve people over serving God?

MARCH 15, 2022
Daily Reading – Numbers 28-29 / Mark 13

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 13:4-5 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

People are still asking the same questions the disciples asked Jesus a few thousand years ago. Will you tell us how we can know when Jesus is coming back? What signs will there be of His return? The answer today is the very same answer that Jesus gave His followers back then. TAKE HEED!

Jesus said take heed, pay attention to what I am about to tell you, so no man deceives you. Take heed to my words. Today the answer is still the same. Open your bible, read it, and take heed to what God is saying so the world cannot deceive you. God’s Word has never been wrong, ever, and will always lead you in the right ways of life. Open it, read it, and take heed to what it says.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Do you have your bible open?
What are you waiting for, a sign or a Saviour?

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 12:43-44 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Jesus made a point of calling His disciples over to see what this widow had done. Some take this as a financial lesson. That somehow, we are to give all our money to the church. However, the point of His lesson had little to do with the amount of money she gave.

As she gave all she had, when others gave a little of their left-over wealth, Jesus wanted the disciples to see a deeper message than that of the money. His point was her faith. She totally trusted God would take care of her.

Earlier in verse 30 Jesus told a man to love God with everything he has. His heart, mind, soul, and body. That person did not get what Jesus meant, but this widow woman did. Jesus wanted the disciples to see real faith.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

The question is, do we see it today?
