APRIL 4 & 5, 2026—What To Do Today

What To Do Today

Luke 6:9 Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?

Jesus said, “I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?” This is a good rule of thumb every day for all who know Christ as our Saviour.

What will you do with today? Will you do good or evil? Will you live a life to glorify God or to elevate self and the world? How we answer the second part of the question may depend on how we answer the first part. Whether we save a life or destroy it. See if we live a life to glorify God; people who are watching us will then see God in us. It may save their life eternally if they see in us something different from the world. However, if they see the same in us as they do in the world, why would they turn to Christ? It may very well destroy them eternally.

APRIL 3, 2026—Two Calls

Two Calls

Luke 5:31-32 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Today’s verses say Jesus was not honored in His own country. Many pastors have looked for ministries away from where they grew up for this reason. However, read it again. Not only was He not honored in His own country, but also in His own house. It may have been that they were too familiar with Jesus to see what God wanted to do through Him.

Many today have walked away from God’s House, the church, and fellowship. They feel they have heard it, seen it, and do not need any more. However, could it be that in doing so, they are not honoring Jesus again in His own house? He just might use them if they stayed.

APRIL 2, 2026—What Were You Thinking?

What Were You Thinking?

Luke 5:22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts?

Have you ever witnessed someone do something crazy and thought, “What were you thinking?” The question may be rhetorical, and by it, you are simply saying, “You must not be thinking clearly, because, if you thought this through, you would not have done that.” On the other hand, it may be a serious question as you wonder, “What were you thinking?”

When Jesus asked, “What reason ye in your hearts,” Jesus knew the men’s thoughts. He did not need to ask them, “What were you thinking?” He knew. God also knows the thoughts and intents of our hearts today. Hebrews 4:12 says the Word of God will help us decide in life how we might act upon our thoughts and intents.

APRIL 1, 2026—A Crowd Of ONE

A Crowd Of ONE

Luke 5:15-16 But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities. And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

It seems today the Mega-Church is what everyone craves. The larger congregations have more financial resources to fund bigger stage productions and events; therefore, they receive a lot of attention. I am in no way condemning their efforts to get the gospel out by every means possible. However, Jesus did not desire the presence of a crowd. Jesus enjoyed a Crowd of ONE!

In today’s verses, we find multitudes of people coming to see Jesus. What did Jesus do? He withdrew to a quiet place to be alone with His Father, God. He knew His best moments were not in the crowd of thousands, but rather in the Crowd of ONE. When the masses go their way, the Crowd of ONE is always there.

MARCH 31, 2026—Our Reason To Be!

Our Reason To Be!

Luke 4:43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.

Jesus often said, I am here to do ‘my Father’s business’ or ‘the will of Him who sent me.’  Jesus was obedient to all the Father asked of Him. In today’s verse, He tells a group of people who wanted Him to remain and teach them more that He had to go and could not stay. He said, “I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.

Today, there are an untold number of Bible studies going on daily. Actually, I think Bible studies are great. However, if all we do is learn more and more but never give out the gospel message, we are not fulfilling the reason we are here. We must, as Jesus did, preach the Kingdom of God to others also. Mark 16:15 says, “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
