What Is The Truth?

July 16, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Proverbs 16:5
Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

It seems like today, many people are against the work of God’s people. The popular view is the order of today. It is not about what is right or even what is wrong, it’s simply whatever man wants. The democracy of humanity rules today’s morals. If enough people proclaim something to be right, with a loud enough voice, for a long period of time, people begin to believe it must be so.

For example, some Christians today are confused over the claim that homosexuality is a lifestyle determined at birth. A prolonged battle, loud opposing voices, and financially backed claims have clouded the truth of scripture. Even though God proclaims in all of scripture that this way of life is sinful, since man now proclaims it is not, we must make laws and spend thousands of hours and dollars in our courtrooms to keep homosexuality away from our children in school. Why? Because we have begun to believe the lie spoken by man.

If this is a lifestyle from birth, and God creates all people, God has then created them to do something He repeatedly says He hates. Yet the same Bible says He loves all men. Something is wrong here. What is it? It is that man has begun the process of discarding parts of the truth. God hates sin yet loves humanity. So, this sinfulness could not be created by God. People have joined hand in hand, promoting this sinful life. God does not hate people, He hates sin. All sin.

This is but one example. The same is true in churches, homes, and businesses worldwide. Selecting the truth of the scripture, we want to obey and discard the rest. The Bible says those who do so “shall not be unpunished.” Or should we also toss that part out of the Bible?

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

We must again realize that the entire Word of God is true, not just the parts that fit our current lifestyle. We should mold our lives after the Bible and not mold the Bible to fit our lives.

How do you mold your life to meet the desires of God?

Who is God Living With?

July 15, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Psalm 15:1
LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

At the time of the writing of Psalm 15:1, the question and answer were somewhat clear. Who shall abide in the temple and dwell in the holy hill? The answer then would have been the Priests. They were the only ones allowed to dwell in the temple and stay there continually. Why? Because this was a place where God’s presence resided. What characterized a priest? Well, some of the answers are given in the verses that follow Psalm 15:1. The type of man God would allow in this Holy place was to be an upright, right-living, truthful, and kind person. He must be a person who cannot stand sin and loves the children of God. Someone generous with the needy and not greedy with what God had given to him. God would share a residence with this type of person.

Seeing that today our body is the temple of the Living God, we might ask the question a bit differently. Who is God living with today? In Hebrews, it says we are now, as believers, of a royal priesthood. Therefore, we are the priests He lives with today. Is the person God is living with, which is YOU if you are saved, doing their best to provide a suitable living companion for God? Are we a Psalm 15 man or woman? We should count it all glory and honor to have Him as a guest in our temple. Who are we asking Him to live with?

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

As we go through our day today, we might think of our body as a vessel that carries God from place to place. As you look at, listen to, and speak with people, imagine God peering through your eyes to see what is out there. He leans toward your ear to hear what is being said. He is trying hard to speak through your lips to tell people He is in there. Is His dwelling place today HOLY?

If we remember that our body is the dwelling place of our Holy God,
what might it cause us to do differently with His dwelling place?

Till There Was No Remedy!

July 14, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

2 Chronicles 36:16
But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

“Till there was no remedy!”  What a frightening statement. To think there is no remedy for your actions with God. Yet people still today live their lives as if they can just get right with God and come to Him whenever they feel like it. “Free will” tells us that we have the freedom of choice. However, people misunderstand even their “free will.”

You do have the freedom to choose heaven or hell.

You have the choice of freedom or a life bound in sin.

You may choose freely to follow Jesus or the devil.

You have that freedom, RIGHT NOW! However, God has never said He would allow you to thumb your nose at Him forever and still have all that freedom.

You can only be saved if the Holy Spirit draws you to the Lord. Fortunately for us, He is in the business of drawing everyone to Himself. Sadly, though, you might wait too long thinking it is all up to me, and at any time I want, I can be saved. The truth of the matter, my friend, it is all up to God, not you. The Bible teaches that everyone is called to redemption. It teaches that God is patient, kind, and loving. Then again, it also teaches that there comes a time when you can harden your heart and never desire to receive Him as Saviour. Meaning there may come a time when there may be NO REMEDY for your sin.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

The good news is this: if you are not already saved and the idea of it being too late upsets and concerns you, then you have not reached the NO REMEDY point as of yet. If you are concerned, this is evidence that God is still calling you right now. Why put it off any longer? Why wait until God might say, “there was no remedy” for you? Accept Him today.

How has God become the REMEDY for the life you now enjoy?

Putting Out The Fire With Fire

July 12 & 13, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Proverbs 12:1
Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

On TV, I saw a raging fire on the West Coast of the US burning out of control. The firefighters on the scene were not trying to stop the blaze; instead, they were concentrating on ensuring the flames did not spread much farther. They realized it was out of control and were busy trying to control the amount of damage it would do. To do so, they ignited a controlled fire around the blaze, large enough to consume everything in its path. They hoped that when this raging inferno reached that point, it would no longer have anything to burn and that the pre-burned area was too large for the flames to leap over. Fortunately, it worked. Yet, to control the fire, everything around it had to be destroyed.

Often, people who believe they are right and will not listen to counsel are just like that fire. No matter what the facts say, no matter what the evidence of God’s hand at work says, no matter what, they believe they are right. It is not until everything around them has been destroyed that they begin to realize that in their unwillingness to learn, they destroy themselves. There is nothing left to consume. No one left to complain to or listen to them and their ideas. People avoid the destructive fire of a stubborn heart.

Today’s verse says, “he that hateth reproof is brutish.” The word “brutish” here means eaten up or self-destructive. Just as the fire was destroyed by fire, so will people who are unwilling to receive instruction destroy themselves by destroying relationships all around themselves.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

You might be asking if I realize that it is me, and I am in the middle of it, how do I change? Reach out to the mighty hand of God to pull you free. Ask Him to open your heart to the truth. Do not try to get God to align with what you are doing. Instead, find out what God is doing and align yourself with Him.

What might be one area of life where you need to align yourself
better with God’s design and desire for your life?

It Is All About The Foundation

July 11, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Psalm 11:3
If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

Have you ever seen a structure, such as a grass hut or maybe a tent, that has been built on no real foundation, or a very weak foundation? It might last on a nice day when the sun is shining and there is just a gentle breeze in the air. However, let the hard winds blow or the storms come raging, and what happens to the structure? We all know it collapses like a pile of toothpicks.

Our lives are so much the same. If the foundation of our life is simply built on our wishes, desires, or something of our own making, it might last while the day seems bright, and no problems are around. Nevertheless, let the storm clouds of anger and hostility come, the winds of a broken home or health concerns, or the extreme heat of financial problems, and what happens? The life we built of our own design will crumble much like a structure made of toothpicks.

How can we prevent this collapse of our lives from happening? It is by building our lives on the foundation of God’s Holy Word. My friend, that foundation never changes, never shifts, never crumbles, and never falls.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

A firm foundation is built on Jesus Christ, our Lord. Anchor your life in the Rock and you will never have to fear the storms.

How have you anchored your life to the Rock that is Jesus?
