God Is Always There For You
October 30, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Job 19:25-26
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

Have you ever felt life was all going bad? Your entire day seemed to be one catastrophe after another. Nothing you did went right. At the end of the day, you just want to get in bed, cover your head, and pretend as if it all never happened. Tomorrow, you say, will have to be better. Well, do not feel alone, everyone has had those days.

However, our worst day probably was not as bad as the worst day in Job’s life. He lost his home, his livelihood, his livestock, his children, his servants, and his health. All he really had left was his wife, and she wanted him to curse God and die. Does your day seem so bad now?

During those bad times, if you are like most people, you tend to ask why God is doing this to you. What did I do to deserve this? So did Job, kind of. He asked why he was ever born in the first place. Why could he not have died at birth? Yup, now that is a bad day. However, in our verses today in Job 19:25, 26, Job says something interesting. He never gave up on God, and he knew God had not given up on him. Why, because he saw how God had been real to him in the good times. He had a real relationship with a real God, and no number of bad days or terrible circumstances could make that go away.

Bad days come and go. You will probably have another one someday. (You probably did not want to hear that right now, right?) Nevertheless, one thing that will never change in your life is God.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

The Bible says that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. A preacher once said to me, “If you get a grip on God’s hand in the daylight, you will not have to go searching for it in the dark.” That sounded good to me then and still seems like great advice today. Grab God’s hand, never let go, and let Him lead. Your bad day will not be as bad with God by your side.

Are you holding on to the nail-scarred hand today?

God’s Take On The Economy
October 29, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

2 Corinthians 9:6-8
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

In today’s economy, it is hard to understand the idea of “If I give away some of my money, I will be better off.” This idea just seems to go against the grain of everything we have learned about economics. Like “saving for a rainy day” or “a penny saved, a penny earned.” However, let’s look at it for a second, shall we?

This Corinthian church was giving to another group of people whom they did not know. Setting money aside for others, they had never met. Some might call this tossing money into the wind. However, God has said he would supply for our needs through men. We read in Luke 6:38 where God says, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” Therefore, for God to keep His Word, people must also give. However, where do people get the money to give in the first place? It comes through other people in gifts or a job given to you! So, who encourages these people to give or not to give to you? The answer is that God does through the Holy Spirit. If you are a giver, then God has no problem wanting people to bless your life. If you are a Scrooge, you only get the little bits you can scrape together. Isn’t it funny how some people seem to get more and more blessings from God, while others just get by? OK, so it is not funny. Truly, it is somewhat sad. It is sad that many people have not learned the joy of giving to God and watching Him bless them in so many different ways. It is still Economics 101. In order to gain, you must invest. So, where are you investing?

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” Your God is truly able to supply all your needs if you will gladly give your all to Him.

What has God entrusted to you to be faithful with?

What A Friend We Have In Jesus
October 28, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Proverbs 28:21
To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

It is great to have a friend. Someone you know you can trust and rely on.

Everyone wants to be liked. Everyone wants to be admired for who he or she is. Today, you see people everywhere doing whatever it takes to be liked. It happens in schools. Teens will compromise their principles simply to fit in with the groups. It happens in the workforce. Employers are asking more of employees and giving back less. However, people do what is necessary because they want to be liked and accepted, and want to succeed. It may even seem that if you do not do as others ask, then the supposed friendship is over. Why might it appear to be over? Well, because if we do not do what is expected, someone else will, and he or she then appears to be his or her best friend.

The Bible warns us about this attitude. “For a piece of bread,” a friend will leave you. If so, that friendship was not based on love or respect, but on selfishness. The world we live in today does not think of what they can do for you, but rather, what you will do for them. A mindset of, if what is happening around me today does not benefit me, I am out of here.

God’s Word tells us as Christians to do just the opposite. It is not about what I can get, but what I can give. The Bible does not say go find people to love you, but rather, go love your neighbor. Jesus said that He did not come to earth to be ministered to, but instead to minister to others. We need not spend so much time trying to please man, better still, just be a good friend. Please God with all you do, and you will have a real friend for all eternity.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

If we are going to be more Christ-like, we are going to have to get our eyes off ourselves and back on the Saviour. In Luke 9:48, Jesus held a child and said, “he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.” This world needs a friend. A real friend. Be the best of friends and introduce them to an eternal friend, one who will never forsake them. Jesus.

How and to whom might you be a real friend today?

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

We have awakened today at the beginning of a new year. New opportunities seem just around the corner. New goals get set every year at this time. Plans for a better way, a new walk, and a new world seem ever so possible today with the fresh beginning of a brand-new year. The truth is that new walks, new worlds, and new ways are available every day. All we need to do is turn to Christ, and we can realize the same feeling of beginning again any day of the year.

In the very first chapter of the book of Psalms, we see just how this is possible. It tells us not to listen to those negative people who tell us, “You’ll never change.” Look them in the eye and tell them, “You are so right; I cannot change on my own, but with the help of God and the Holy Spirit who resides in me, all things are possible.” With God doing the changing and not we, everyone can be changed for the better. Walk not in the negative counsel of this ungodly world, which scorns everything you try to do for God. Make the Bible your delight. Find in it the truths to stand against Satan and the world. The Bible says in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

Now the rest is up to you… Who are you going to believe today? The world that says you cannot, you will not, and you do not stand a chance? Or will you believe God who plainly has said that if you delight in His Word and meditate on it, then you can, you will, and you have every chance for life to be better? In other words, think about the good things He has for you. Believe what His Word says is true. Then God says ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. So, who are you going to believe, God, or man? What a great day today can be when you know who God is. When you know He is on your side, by your side, and even inside you at every turn today. A New Way, a New Walk, and a New World are just outside your door. Enjoy your walk with God today.

Who are you going to believe, a “you can’t world, or a “We Can God?

Paul Gives Some Good Advice
October 25 & 26, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

1 Corinthians 16:13-14
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. Let all your things be done with charity.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

Whenever a person thinks it could be the very last time, they might be able to talk with someone, they often try to leave them with a little good advice. In First Corinthians, Paul had to take a firm stance with some young Christians. He has let them know that some of the things they were doing were just wrong and needed to be stopped. However, at the end of the letter, he tells them exactly what they need to do. In addition, what we as well should be doing today.

WATCH: Keep your eyes open and look out for sin. It is everywhere. Also, be looking for Jesus. He is coming soon.

STAND: When you are confronted with sin, stand in your faith in Christ and His strength.

QUIT YOU LIKE MEN: Today we would say, Act like a man (or woman) of God. Be proud of who you are in Him.

BE STRONG: Be empowered. Act like someone who is given authority under a great leader. After all, as a Christian, you are.

DO EVERYTHING WITH CHARITY: While watching and standing in Christ, knowing He has empowered you, also treat everyone with love. Jesus loves everyone. That is why He came and died for them, just as He did for you and I who believe in Him today.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

Christians, in today’s world, we must take a stand against sin but love the sinners. Jesus said it best from the cross. “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”

How might you practice today confronting sin, yet loving the sinner?

There will not be a Daily Devotion sent out on Sundays. Instead, we encourage you to attend your church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home, re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.
