JUNE 24, 2026—It Is The Last Thing He Said

Daily DIt Is The Last Thing He Saidraft

Acts 1:7-8 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

When I was younger, at times my parents would tell me to do a few things while they were gone. If and when they were not done, I remember hearing, “Why isn’t this done? Couldn’t you remember to do this? It was the last thing that I told you.” When they returned, it was also the first thing that they inspected. It was not that I did not remember; I was just putting it off.

The last thing Jesus told us to do before ascending back to Heaven was to be a witness unto the uttermost parts of the earth. When he returns, I can imagine it will be the first thing that He inspects. I sure do not want to hear Jesus say, “Why isn’t this done? Couldn’t you remember to do this? It was the last thing that I told you.”

JUNE 23, 2026—Do It Again

Do It Again

John 21:6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

Jesus was crucified, placed in a tomb, rose from the dead, yet the disciples went back fishing. It was what they did before and was familiar to them. Then Jesus shows up and asks, “Are you catching anything?” Not knowing it was Jesus, they yell back, “No!” He says, “Cast on the right side of the ship.” They did and caught a net full. They immediately realized that it was Jesus. Why? Well, that story is familiar. In Luke 5, when they first met Jesus, He told them where to fish, and they caught a boatload. Here He said, Do it again.

When Jesus tells us to fish for souls, we ought to listen. Just because we did not win someone one time, maybe Jesus is just saying, Do it again.

JUNE 22, 2026—That You Might Believe

That You Might Believe

John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

In our passage today, Jesus says to Thomas in verse 27, “be not faithless, but believing.” Thomas then addresses Jesus as His Lord and God. By doing so, he was saying he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Saviour, and as God. That is what Jesus wanted for him and for you and me. He says so in verse 29 when He says, “blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”

Our verses today tell us Jesus did a lot more than we ever read about. Yet there are enough in the pages of scripture for anyone who desires to be saved to be able to believe in Christ. Jesus wants us to have a real life through His name.

JUNE 20 & 21, 2026—I Need To Know Where He Is

I Need To Know Where He Is

John 20:13 And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.

In John 20:13 and 15, Mary is asked the same question. Once by angels in the tomb where Jesus had been, and once by Jesus Himself. “Why weepest thou?” To paraphrase her answer, it was, “I don’t know where Jesus is.” She was heartbroken because she did not know exactly where He was.

Oh, how horrible it would be even today if we did not know where our Saviour was. Many other religions have theories about the demise of their spiritual leaders. We know exactly where Jesus is. Romans 8:34 says, “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.” We know exactly where Jesus is today.

JUNE 19, 2026—Always Loving

Always Loving

John 19:26-27 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

On a cross of crucifixion, the agony was beyond understanding. Yet during this extreme torture and pain, Jesus looked from the cross to those He loved. He asked His mother to look to John as if He were her own son. He asked John to care for His mother as if she were his own mother. Jesus was always showing love to those whom he loved.

Even farther off in the distance, Jesus looked and saw you and me. He gave to those who will believe in Him the Holy Spirit, to lead and guide us. He provided the church to nurture and care for us. He gave us His Word to feed us. Jesus was then, and always is, thinking about us.
