JULY 13, 2022 – How Are You Called?

  How Are You Called?

JULY 13, 2022
Daily Reading – Neh. 1-3 / Acts 13:1-28

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

At many missions’ conferences I have heard the same question asked of missionaries. “How did you know you were called to that land?” Some have stories of being in the land before, going on a short-term mission’s trip, of family ministering there in the past, and so on. Yet the final answer is always the same. I knew in my heart; this is where God called me to go.
Today’s verse says, “the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.” As it was then, it is today. The Holy Spirit calls people to share the gospel to every creature. Going as Ambassadors of God.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Will you pray today and thank God for all those who
heard the voice of the Holy Spirit, and said YES?

JULY 12, 2022 – Opps, I Forgot About Peter

  Opps, I Forgot About Peter

JULY 12, 2022
Daily Reading – Ezra 8-10 / Acts 12

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 12:13-15 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda. And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate. And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Whenever I come to this passage of scripture I am concerned at the lack of faith. Don’t misunderstand, I am not talking of only those in the story, but also many Christians today as well.
Here in this passage, many Christians gathered with the purpose of praying for Peter’s release and safety. When he is standing at the door, they don’t believe it. Rhoda, someone who does believe it, was so excited in the answer to prayer she ran back to tell the others and forgot Peter at the gate.
Sometimes our prayers sound good as they cross our lips, but our hearts wonder, can it possibly come true. When it does, we are so amazed in God’s answer, we forget about who we prayed for. There needs to be a certain AWE in the mighty hand of God. Yet it should not surprise us, He really answers prayer.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

What big prayer are you asking for today?

JULY 11, 2022 – Gentiles Too?

  Gentiles Too?

JULY 11, 2022
Daily Reading – Ezra 4-7 / Acts 11

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

As we read today’s verse, we might get the idea this was the moment God included Gentiles into the group of people who could be saved. However, Gentiles could always be saved, just as the Jews. This was simply the moment the Apostles came to realize it.
Cornelius was a Gentile who feared God and God spake to him before this verse. In the Old Testament we read Ruth was a Moabite, which is not Jewish. She came to the realization and worship of the God of her mother-in-law Naomi. In fact, God spoke to Gentiles when He spoke to Adam and Eve as there were no Jews at the time. Gentiles and Jews are all loved by God and always have been.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Aren’t you thankful that Jesus died for all the children of the world?

JULY 9 & 10, 2022 – Worship God Alone

  Worship God Alone

JULY 9 & 10, 2022
Daily Reading – Ezra 1-3 / Acts 10:23-48

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 10:25-26 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Today many Evangelists and Preachers have made a name for themselves. We see them on TV, hear them on the radio, and find their books and CDs on the Internet. Most of them have not really sought for fame. They have simply preached the Word and man elevated them to this place of recognition. However, they, and we need to remember who is to be worshiped.
Peter had also become famous for what God had done through him. Yet when Cornelius bowed to him, He said, “I myself also am a man.” There is nothing wrong with showing respect to the man of God who delivers the Word of God. Nevertheless, we must be careful to never worship man and only worship God.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Are you worshiping God only or a man also?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.

JULY 8, 2022 – God The Cleanser

  God The Cleanser

JULY 8, 2022
Daily Reading – 2 Chron. 34-36 / Acts 10:1-22

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 10:15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

There Is a chorus we sing which says, “I shall not be, I shall not be moved.” The Chorus is saying that God’s Word is solid and that we should live by what it says. However, we need to know what God has really said, not what man has implied. We sometimes get so entrenched in our religion that we no longer really care if God said it or not, that Is just how we do it.
Peter did not eat certain foods he called common. God met him in a vision and said, “What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.” God had challenged Peter’s traditions.
Sometimes the Bible will challenge our traditions as well. God said, He cleanses and washes away sin. Yet sometimes we have trouble believing they are gone from others, and us.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

When God says it is clean, doesn’t that make it clean?
