KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Psalm 106:21
They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

Often in the scripture, we find Egypt used as a picture of the world around us. God brought the Children of Israel out of Egypt just as He takes His church out of the world today by salvation. God called the Children of Israel to be different from the rest of the world and their worldly beliefs, and He has called today’s church to do the same. In the passage above, the Psalmist is referring to the Jewish people. They were freed from their bondage in Egypt by the miracles God had done in the presence of the Pharaoh. This verse refers to how God had freed them and provided for them in their journey. He had also prepared a land for them and turned it over to them when they arrived. Then He blessed the land and filled it with everything they could possibly need. However, all the things that God had given to them seemed to clutter their view of God. Over time, they had forgotten Him.

I do know this verse is about a time centuries ago. Nevertheless, the living Word of God is also proving that Satan never changes his tactics. He is still using the same old tricks. People just forget. God brings a person out of sin, saves them, frees them from the bondage that sin once had on them, and gives them a brand-new home in heaven. God begins to bless their new life. The next thing you know, the things God has given them begin to cloud the view they once had of God. They forget from whom they received everything. Even a Nation that was once “UNDER GOD…” is now UNDER ATTACK. The freedoms given by God are being taken away by Satan and the world. We all must remember who gave us this great land we love.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

From where did God bring you? Besides saving you from a place called hell and making a home for you in heaven someday, think of His daily blessing you enjoy. Think for a moment and remember God’s goodness to you. Then thank Him for all His blessings on you today. Thank Him for our country. Now show Him you care. He can do great things again if we do our part and trust Him.

Can you write down 10 blessings of God this week
and thank Him for them daily?

What A Friend We Have In Jesus
October 28, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Proverbs 28:21
To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

It is great to have a friend. Someone you know you can trust and rely on.

Everyone wants to be liked. Everyone wants to be admired for who he or she is. Today, you see people everywhere doing whatever it takes to be liked. It happens in schools. Teens will compromise their principles simply to fit in with the groups. It happens in the workforce. Employers are asking more of employees and giving back less. However, people do what is necessary because they want to be liked and accepted, and want to succeed. It may even seem that if you do not do as others ask, then the supposed friendship is over. Why might it appear to be over? Well, because if we do not do what is expected, someone else will, and he or she then appears to be his or her best friend.

The Bible warns us about this attitude. “For a piece of bread,” a friend will leave you. If so, that friendship was not based on love or respect, but on selfishness. The world we live in today does not think of what they can do for you, but rather, what you will do for them. A mindset of, if what is happening around me today does not benefit me, I am out of here.

God’s Word tells us as Christians to do just the opposite. It is not about what I can get, but what I can give. The Bible does not say go find people to love you, but rather, go love your neighbor. Jesus said that He did not come to earth to be ministered to, but instead to minister to others. We need not spend so much time trying to please man, better still, just be a good friend. Please God with all you do, and you will have a real friend for all eternity.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

If we are going to be more Christ-like, we are going to have to get our eyes off ourselves and back on the Saviour. In Luke 9:48, Jesus held a child and said, “he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.” This world needs a friend. A real friend. Be the best of friends and introduce them to an eternal friend, one who will never forsake them. Jesus.

How and to whom might you be a real friend today?

Is It Right To Join In Sin To Reach Others?
October 21, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

1 Corinthians 9:27
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

There are many ministries out there today. Some of them are great humanitarian works. Some are wonderful evangelistic endeavors. Some are simply excuses for living in sin and calling it of God. I read not too long ago in our local paper about a man who opened a bar called “The Bible Bar.” The article stated that he hoped to have the opportunity to witness to people when they came in for a drink. Therefore, his theory seems to be to feed them with their addiction and win them to Christ.

People say they can work within sinful occupations and not sin. How can this be? If you are not leading people to Christ with your life and actions, you are leading them away from Christ. Imagine this. I am standing in the center of a room, and you are standing at the door of that room. Can you go into the room and out of the room at the same time and still arrive where I am? The answer is obvious, of course not. To get to me, you would need to come into the room. One, only one direction leads to me. Neither can you lead someone out of and into sin at the same time. In today’s verse, Paul says he keeps himself under subjection. Meaning he watched what he said, what he did, and where he went. He did this so no one could ever say, “Paul’s testimony is the same as mine, so why do I need Christ?” If they could say their testimonies were the same, it could make all the things Paul preached about Christ untrustworthy, and his words could be cast off as unbelievable.

We are responsible for how and where we lead people in the name of Christ. Where are you leading people today?

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Heard that before? Well, let’s change it just a bit. Today is the first day of your testimony. That is a fact. What you do today, people will remember for a long time. So, what are you going to do with your testimony today? Does it glorify God?

What will you do with your testimony today?

How Safe Should We Feel?
October 14, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Jeremiah 52:13-14
And burned the house of the LORD, and the king’s house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with fire: And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

The feeling of security is something everyone loves. In America, for so many years, many people have felt an absolute sense of “I am safe here.” However, we should look at the past.

Israel had a Temple built by Solomon for God, by God’s own design. It was said to be one of the most spectacular structures to have ever been built. When it was finished, God Himself said He would dwell there among His people. God’s Home on Earth, you might say. Therefore, for many years, God had protected the land from destruction. Nothing seemed to be able to get to them. Their enemies could not defeat them, and all who lived there felt safe. Babylon was a faraway country for travel at the time. Security was not on their mind because they had always felt secure. Their ancestors had followed God, so God protected them. They felt so safe that they began to forget that it was God providing their security. They had begun to follow other gods. Oh, they still honored God with lip service honored God, but He was one of the many gods they served now. It was because of their disobedience and rebellious life that God allowed His people to be taken as slaves, the land to be destroyed, and His very own dwelling place, including all of the articles inside, to be destroyed and taken.

As you look at America and the way she has turned away from the One True God, how safe do you feel NOW?

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

We need to fall on our knees once again and ask God to give us the courage to stand up in the face of sinful, liberal lies that tell us that sin does not matter. My friends, it matters very much. If not to us, it does matter to God. Pray for your elected officials to know God and to do His will.

How safe do you feel?

We Need Mercy
October 7, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Psalm 85:7
Show us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

God’s mercy is something every single person in the world needs. Why, well, it goes back to understanding what mercy really is. Our verse today relates to the kindness of God to someone who truly does not deserve such kindness. It is like being a parent and your child is playing outside when suddenly you hear a loud breaking sound. You turn to realize your six-foot picture window is now lying in pieces on the floor. Just outside this open hole in the wall stands your child with a look of fear on their face that says, “I am truly a dead person when I get inside.”

On both sides of this encasement, which once held hundreds of dollars of glass, are emotions. On one side, there is hurt over a child who apparently did not listen to instructions about where to play ball. There is also frustration over the time and money that will be necessary to repair the damage. On the other side is a child who has realized for a brief moment that their parents were right about playing too close to the house. There is also a fearful thought of having to pay for this somehow, and money is not an option.

This is somewhat how we stand with God when we come for salvation. We finally realized sin has a price, and there is no way I can pay the price. However, on the other side is someone who holds my destiny in their hands, and only He can pay the price. Yes, the child was probably punished for breaking the window. However, this same child still ate at the table all year, and the parents continued to provide for him. Mercy is saying I love you no matter what. God extended His mercy to all of humanity. Some refuse to accept it. The good news is His mercy endures forever.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

Mercy is God not giving you what you truly deserve. What we deserve is to be punished for our sins. Instead, God has let His only begotten Son, Jesus, pay the price. The mercy of God is good, and it grants us the availability of Salvation. Have you accepted God’s mercy? Once you do, He also gives you grace.

If you look back on your life,
how much mercy has God shown you?
