JULY 16, 2021 – What Is The Truth?

JULY 16, 2021

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Proverbs 16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD:

It seems like today; many people are against the work of God’s people. Popular view is the order of today. It is not about what is right, or even what is wrong, it is just simply whatever man wants. The democracy of humanity is what rules today’s morals. If enough people proclaim something to be right, with a loud enough voice, for a long period of time, people begin to believe it must be so.

For example: some Christians today are confused over the claim that homosexuality is a lifestyle designed at birth. A prolonged battle, loud opposing voices, and financially backed claims, have clouded the truth of scripture. Even though God proclaims in all of scripture that this way of life is sinful, since man now proclaims it is not, we must make laws, and spend thousands of hours and dollars in our courtrooms to keep homosexuality away from our children in school. Why? Because we have begun to believe the lie spoken by man.

If this is a lifestyle from birth, and God creates all people, God has then created them to do something He repeatedly says He hates. Yet the same Bible says He loves all men. Something is wrong here. What is it? It is that man has begun the process of discarding parts of the truth. God hates sin yet loves humanity. So, this sinfulness could not be created of God. People have joined hand in hand, promoting this sinful life. God does not hate people, He hates sin. All sin.

This is but one example. The same is true in churches, homes, and businesses worldwide. Selecting the truth of scripture we want to obey and discarding the rest. The Bible says they who do so “shall not be unpunished.” Or should we toss that part out of the Bible too?

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

We must again realize that the entire Word of God is true, and not just the parts that fit our current life. We should attain to mold our life after the Bible and not mold the Bible to fit our life.

Whom Is God Living With?

JULY 15, 2021

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Psalm 15:1 LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD:

At the time of the writing of Psalm 15:1, the question and answer were somewhat clear. Who shall abide in the temple and dwell in the holy hill? The answer then would have been the Priests. In fact, they were the only ones who were allowed to continually dwell in the temple and stay there. Why? Because this was a place where God’s presence did reside. What characterized a priest? Well, some of the answers are given in the verses that follow Psalm 15:1. The type of man God would allow in this Holy place was to be upright, right living, a truthful and a kind person. He must be a person who cannot stand sin and loves the children of God. Someone who was generous with the needy and not greedy with what God had given to him. God would share a residence with this type of person.

Seeing today our body is the temple of the Living God, we might ask the question a bit different. Whom is God living with today? In Hebrews, it says we are now, as believers, of a royal priesthood. Therefore, we are the priests He lives with today. Is the person God is living with, which is YOU if you are saved, doing their best to provide a suitable living companion for God? Are we a Psalms 15 man or woman? We should count it all glory and honor to have Him as a guest in our temple. Who are we asking Him to live with?

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

As we go through our day today, we might think of our body as a vessel that carries God from place to place. As you look at, listen to, and speak with people, imagine God peering through your eyes to see what is out there. He leans to your ear to hear what is being said. He is trying hard to speak through your lips to tell people He is in there. Is His dwelling place today HOLY?

Till There Was No Remedy!

JULY 14, 2021

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

2 Chronicles 36:16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD:

“Till there was no remedy!” What a frightening statement. To think there is no remedy for your actions with God. Yet people still today live their lives as if they can just get right with God and come to Him whenever they feel like it. “Free will” tells us that we have the freedom of choice. However, people misunderstand even their “free will.”

     • You do have the freedom to choose heaven or hell.
     • You have the choice of freedom, or a life bound in sin.
     • You may choose freely to follow Jesus or the devil.

You have that freedom, RIGHT NOW! However, God has never said He would allow you to thumb your nose at Him forever and still have all that freedom.

You can only be saved if the Holy Spirit draws you to the Lord. Fortunately for us, He is in the business of drawing everyone to Himself. Sadly though, you might wait too long thinking, it is all up to me, and at any time I want, I can be saved. The truth of the matter my friend, it is all up to God, not you. The Bible teaches that everyone is called to redemption. It teaches God is patient, kind, and loving. Then again, it also teaches there comes a time when you can harden your heart and never desire to receive Him as Saviour. Meaning there may come a time when there may be NO REMEDY for your sin.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

The good news is this, if you are not already saved and the idea of it being too late upsets and concerns you, then you have not reached the NO REMEDY point as of yet. In fact, if you are concerned, this is evidence God is still calling you right now. Why put it off any longer. Why wait until God might say, “there was no remedy” for you? Accept Him today.

JULY 13, 2021 – Signs, Signs, Everywhere A Sign

Signs, Signs, Everywhere A Sign

JULY 13, 2021

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Matthew 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.

THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD:

When I was a teenager there was a song produced in 1971 by a group called “The Five Man Electrical Band.” The name of the song was simply “SIGNS.” There was a line in that song which read, “Sign, sign, everywhere a sign Blockin’ out the scenery, breakin’ my mind Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign?” What the song was trying to say was that there were so many signs around that you could not even enjoy the life that these signs were intending to make better.

Today we find many people are looking for a sign of Christ. They will flock to the church that seems to be able to perform the greatest miracles. Signs and wonders seem to draw a crowd. However, Jesus while on earth, warned the Pharisees about looking for a sign. They were told the only real sign they needed and would receive was the same as the prophet Jonas, (or Jonah as it is spelt in Old Testament), who was three days in the belly of a great fish and then brought out to declare salvation to the people of Nineveh. Jesus gave them that sign later as he was also three days in the earth and rose to declare total victory over Satan, hell, and the grave. Yet even when that sign was complete, the Pharisees still would not believe. They had their heart set on seeing another sign.

I wonder how many people will miss that the true sign of salvation was what Christ did at Calvary while still looking at all the wonders and signs of man.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

Signs, signs, yes everywhere there is a sign. There are signs in the heavens of the magnitude of God. We see signs in the one-cell creatures of the details to which God attends. We have signs in the wonder of a newborn baby as to the love of life that God displays. The greatest sign of His ultimate love for us was the death, burial, and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ. Do not miss eternal life while looking for another sign!

JULY 12, 2021 – Putting Out The Fire With Fire

Putting Out The Fire With Fire

JULY 12, 2021

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Proverbs 12:1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

On TV, I saw a raging fire on the west coast of the US burning out of control. The firefighters were actually not trying to stop the blaze; they were concentrating on making sure it did not spread much farther. They realized it was out of control and were busy trying to control the amount of damage it would do. To do so, they ignited a controlled fire around the blaze, large enough to burn everything in its path. Their hope was that when this raging inferno reached that point, it would no longer have anything to burn and that the pre-burned area was too large for the flames to leap over. Fortunately, it worked. Yet, to control the fire, everything around it had to be destroyed.

Often people who believe they are right, and will not listen to counsel, are just like that fire. No matter what the facts say, no matter what the evidence of God’s hand at work says, no matter what, they believe they are right. It is not until everything around them has been destroyed that they begin to realize, in their unwillingness to learn, they destroyed themselves. There is nothing left to consume. No one left to complain to or listen to them and their ideas. People avoid the destructive fire of a stubborn heart.

Today’s verse says, “he that hateth reproof is brutish.” The word “brutish” here means eaten up or self-destructive. Just as the fire was destroyed by fire, so will people who are unwilling to receive instruction destroy themselves by destroying relationships all around themselves.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

You might be asking, if I realize that is me, and I am in the middle of it, how do I change? Reach out to the mighty hand of God to pull you free. Ask Him to open your heart to the truth. Do not try to get God to get on board with what you are doing. Find out what God is doing and get on board with Him.
