Alone In The Crowd

FEBRUARY 14 & 15, 2026
Daily Reading—Leviticus 4-6 /  Matthew 26:57-75

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 26:56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Have you ever been in a crowded room where people are laughing, talking, and enjoying the event, but you don’t know anyone there? People are pleasant as they walk by, saying, “Hello, how are you?” But they don’t know you either and are just making small talk. In a crowd of thousands, you can feel completely alone.

Today’s verse says Jesus’ friends all left Him. There He was, surrounded by people, yet alone. Even worse, all those who surrounded him wanted to hurt him. Not only was He alone, but He was also tormented. What a horrible experience for the creator of all to endure. His own creations were torturing Him, and the ones who said they loved Him left Him alone. However, this same Jesus has told us He would never leave us nor forsake us. He does not want us to ever feel alone.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

What comfort does His presence bring to you?

IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:

Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?

Within this reading, do I find a CHALLENGE for my life?

What are the things I WILL DO today or this week to accept that CHALLENGE?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home, reread those passages for today’s reading. God has given your pastor exactly what He desires for you to have on that day.

A Fulfilling Promise

FEBRUARY 13, 2026
Daily Reading—Leviticus 1-3 /  Matthew 26:26-56

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

WHAT I’VE NOTICED

There has long been a debate about who killed Jesus. Some say the Jewish leadership, while others blame the Roman rulers of the time. Think about this. The disciples did not want Jesus to die. They wanted Him to start a kingdom. Jesus did not really want to go through this pain, yet He willingly did so. I am sure God the Father was not excited about placing His only Son in this situation. So why did it have to happen?

Jesus said, “not as I will, but as thou wilt.” What placed Jesus on the cross of Calvary was the Word of God thousands of years earlier. It is God’s will that we should not die in our sin and perish. By His Word, He proclaimed and promised a Saviour and the defeat of Satan’s power. God always stands true to His Word.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Can you find time today simply to tell Him thanks?

Not A Fair Exchange

FEBRUARY 12, 2026
Daily Reading—Exodus 39-40 /  Matthew 26:1-25

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 26:15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Robert Van Kampen was a wealthy Christian man from Grand Haven, MI, who built a Scriptorium. In this climate-controlled underground vault, he cared for over 5,000 items he had purchased, including clay tablets, biblical manuscripts, and a blood-stained Bible. I was fortunate enough to see them before he passed, and all the items were moved to a museum in Florida.

Of all the items, I still recall the thirty pieces of silver they poured into my hands. It was not until they told me what I was holding that I realized the value. It was the price exchanged for my Saviour. I wept as I thought, how could anyone see these rough lumps of silver as a fair exchange? However, God gave more than silver; He gave His only Son for me.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

I ask again, how can His Son be a fair exchange for my life?

IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:

Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?

Within this reading, do I find a CHALLENGE for my life?

Works Salvation?

FEBRUARY 11, 2026
Daily Reading—Exodus 36-38 /  Matthew 25:31-46

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

I know some have read this passage of scripture and have seen it as a works salvation verse. They understand it to say that if you do these good deeds, you will make it into heaven, and if you do not, you will not get in. However, you must read it all to understand it. We see in Matthew 25:37 that those who had done the good deeds did not even realize that they had done them. They were not working for salvation; they were serving because they were saved.

The parable shines a light on the heart of the believer and the unbeliever. Those who have trusted Christ have been given the Holy Spirit to reside in them. They act differently because they are made new and are different.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Ask yourself, am I working to earn my salvation
or serving because of my salvation?

IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:

Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?

Within this reading, do I find a CHALLENGE for my life?

What are the things I WILL DO today or this week to accept that CHALLENGE?

When The Door Closes

FEBRUARY 10, 2026
Daily Reading—Exodus 34-35 /  Matthew 25:1-30

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Many today believe they will receive Christ after the rapture, during the tribulation, if they miss it today. Many who never heard of Christ will indeed be saved then. The problem is, the Bible never teaches that those who have heard, understood, and rejected the truth of the gospel will get a second chance.

Jesus returns for His bride. When? He comes at the rapture before the time of tribulation. Today’s passage tells us all who knew of Christ but did not possess His Holy Spirit, pictured by the oil, at Christ’s appearance, were shut out. When they cried to God, it says in Matthew 25:12, “But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.” When the door closes on those who knew of Christ and refused Him, it locks.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Are you ready for the Groom to come?
Is your lamp burning bright with the Oil of God?
