Daily Reading—Leviticus 15-17 /  Mark 1:21-45

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

WHAT I’VE NOTICED

People will often share with their pastor the troubles they encounter in life. They include financial, physical, emotional, relational, and occupational. When I talk with them about their Bible reading and prayer life, they often will look at me with a puzzled look as if to say, “What does that have to do with my situation?”

I am not saying that prayer and Bible reading will immediately fix everything. However, it will always help everything. If we were to start our day as Jesus began His, it could make our perspective on our situations a lot different. The problems may still be there, but we know God is there in the midst of our situation with us. He can bring great peace even during our stormy situations.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

How do you choose to start your day?

IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:

Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?

Within this reading, do I find a CHALLENGE for my life?

What are the things I WILL DO today or this week to accept that CHALLENGE?

Still The Same Message

FEBRUARY 190, 2026
Daily Reading—Leviticus 14 /  Mark 1:1-20

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

I went to a Bible Conference one time and heard a preacher tell everyone, “You do not need to repent to be saved; just believe in Jesus.” WHAT, just believe? Well, in that case, the devil is saved. He believes there is a Jesus. Salvation is more than believing there is a Jesus; it is believing on Him. If you did not have to repent, someone should have told Jesus.

Believing there is a Jesus is not enough. Jesus said we are to believe the gospel. That is the good news that Jesus came to die and shed His blood for your sin. Not so that you can live in sin, but so you can live free from the power of sin. Jesus said, “Repent and believe.”

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Who are you going to believe?
A man who leaves people in their sin,
or a Saviour who frees people from their sin?

IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:

Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?

They Did Run

FEBRUARY 18, 2026
Daily Reading—Leviticus 12-13 /  Matthew 28

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 28:8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

The women, at the tomb of Jesus, were met by an angel. He told them Jesus had risen from the dead; go tell others about it. It says, “And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.” I know there are many deep theological things in this passage, but what caught my attention was the news that caused them to go quickly, to run.

The news is still the same today: Jesus is not in the tomb; He has risen. The command is still the same today: go quickly and tell others, He is coming again, and you shall see Him.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

However, is our response the same today?
Are we going quickly?
Do we run to the world with this glorious news?

Unbelievers Still Believe

FEBRUARY 17, 2026
Daily Reading—Leviticus 9-11 /  Matthew 27:33-66

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 27:64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

They mocked Him, spat upon Him, plucked out His beard, crucified Him with common criminals, called Him names, and treated Him with no respect. That is, they did so in the eyes of others. However, in private, the one in whom they said they did not believe still brought terror to their souls. Even in their unbelief, they believed enough to be afraid.

I find people have not changed so much over the centuries. People ridicule and mock God and His church. They call them names and make fun of them. That is in public. Nevertheless, when tragedy happens, or a death in the family occurs, it is these same people who are calling on God and His church. Often, if their loved one is gone, their last error is worse than the first.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Why do unbelievers suddenly want to believe?

Innocent Blood

FEBRUARY 16, 2026
Daily Reading—Leviticus 7-8 /  Matthew 27:1-32

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 27:4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Judas realized the blood of Jesus was innocent blood. He tried to make it right by giving back the blood money, but that did not work. He tried to resolve his sin by pleading with sin-filled church leaders to forgive him. That did not work either. They said, “What is that to us?” They knew they could not fix it. Judas went to everyone except Jesus and then died in his sin.

Too often today, people are confused about how to deal with sin. They become church members, ask for absolution from a priest, or try to buy forgiveness with money. The only way to deal with our sin is to go to the one who shed this precious blood for that sin, ask for His forgiveness, and let Him wash away our sin with that innocent blood.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Has the Innocent Blood of Christ been applied and washed away your sin?
