Daily Reading—Leviticus 15-17 / Mark 1:21-45
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
WHAT I’VE NOTICED
People will often share with their pastor the troubles they encounter in life. They include financial, physical, emotional, relational, and occupational. When I talk with them about their Bible reading and prayer life, they often will look at me with a puzzled look as if to say, “What does that have to do with my situation?”
I am not saying that prayer and Bible reading will immediately fix everything. However, it will always help everything. If we were to start our day as Jesus began His, it could make our perspective on our situations a lot different. The problems may still be there, but we know God is there in the midst of our situation with us. He can bring great peace even during our stormy situations.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
How do you choose to start your day?
IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:
Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?
Within this reading, do I find a CHALLENGE for my life?
What are the things I WILL DO today or this week to accept that CHALLENGE?
“Getting people into the Word of God…
…and the Word of God into people.”
