Peek-A-Boo…I See You

March 17, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Psalms 69:5
O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

I read a humorous story about a female skier named Picabo Street, (pronounced Peek-A-Boo Street). This famous Olympic skier, Picabo Street, is apparently not just an athlete, it is also said that she is a nurse. The report went on to say she was working in the Intensive Care Unit of a Metropolitan Hospital, however, she was not permitted to answer the telephone. It was said that it simply caused too much confusion when she would answer the hospital phone and say, “Picabo, ICU.”

Well, I am not sure if the story is true or not, but I found it to be a bit funny. What is not funny is that so many Christians today feel they can play a real game of Peek-a-boo with God. Thinking somehow that sometimes God does not see them or maybe He is too busy to notice them for just a little while. It seems odd to me that we might wish to hide from God on one day, but the very next day when trouble comes knocking at our door we are crying out, “Oh God, can’t you see what is happening?” Well, the good news for us is God always sees what is happening. The sad news is He does not always enjoy what He sees.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

As we go through the day today, we should try to remember that God is always vigilant. He is watching over His loved children every moment of every day. Let’s keep Him in our mind, as He keeps us in His.

What might you do today to remind yourself
that God is ever present?

Want To See A Miracle?

March 15 & 16, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

John 12:37
But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

When you are sharing about Christ, occasionally people will ask you things like, “If God is real, how is it He does not do this or that?” They want to see with their own eyes our God do something. What these people are asking is, “Can I see a miracle?” The answer is a resounding, “YES.”

There is the miracle of this planet staying in orbit over all these many years. There is the marvel that not one person ever has just been flung off into outer space as the earth spins round and round. There is the miracle of a baby being born and growing into a man or woman without science or anybody telling it how. The body just grows as God designed it to. There is the miracle of love in a world that promotes hate, violence, and death. However, if they really want to see the greatest miracle of all, ask them to fully trust in Jesus for what He already did on the cross of Calvary and what He is doing for them today in Heaven. Once they give themselves to God fully, they will witness the greatest miracle of all. It is the miracle of a changed heart. A life that was bound for Hell now has a home in Heaven. A life once filled with confusion and doubt is now filled with anticipations and expectations. What greater miracle could anyone ask for?

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

I guess the second-best miracle I can think of today, is that God would use someone like you and I to carry this all-important life-changing message of salvation to someone who is lost in their sin. However, just as it was in Jesus’ days on earth, miracles do not really convince people. Even then, they would follow Him for the show, not out of true love. Still, God allows you and I, who were once lost just as they are, to carry this very precious and special message to them. Handle it with care as you share your faith in Christ. However, be sure to share your faith. That is why we are still here. To be seen by a lost world as God’s living miracles.

Who might you share a miracle with this week?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

There will not be a Daily Devotion sent out on Sundays. Instead, we encourage you to attend your church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.

Which Way?

March 14, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Proverbs.14:12
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

No matter who we are, or what we are doing, there always seem to be three ways to do things. No, that is not a typo; I meant to write three ways.

First, there is the wrong way. Nobody wants to do things the wrong way. You will never hear someone say, “Hey let’s just do this all wrong to see what will happen.” They know what will happen. It will come out wrong.

Next, there is the right way. However, it always seems that doing things the right way includes reading a bunch of directions, doing things in a certain order, and so on. That sounds like it could take a long time.

Therefore, we usually try the third way, OUR WAY. A few shortcuts here, not so much reading there, and done. Then we ask; “what do I do with the parts left over?” Finally, when things go wrong, as they often do, we ask, “How come?” Well, the reason is, that there are really only two ways to do things. Anything not done the right way is automatically the wrong way.

We cannot take shortcuts in life either. Not reading God’s Word and expecting life to be ok will not work. The Bible warned us about these ways thousands of years ago. The way that seems right to man, taking shortcuts, no commitment, no real desire for God in our lives, the “I will have God when I want Him” attitude, is the wrong way… and it always ends in destruction.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

What is the right way? The right way is turning our lives over to God completely, and not holding anything back. It is opening the Bible daily and reading the instruction book to life. Additionally, the right way is by staying in touch with the manufacturer for any updates on the product He created, which is you. Remember if we follow the instructions, things go better.

So, What is the right way for you?

Who Can Praise Him
March 13, 2025

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Psalm 66:8
O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

I have heard people who do not claim to be saved say, “Well praise God,” following times when it seemed trouble had been averted. Whether they even realize it or not, they are actually taking the name of the Lord our God in vain. You see to praise God, or as it is stated in today’s verse “bless our God, is saying you believe that there is a God and that the blessings you just received came from that God. However, those who do not truly know God as their Saviour are acknowledging God as the source of their blessing, all the while living a life that rejects Him, His Son, His authority, and His salvation.

When we received Jesus Christ as our salvation, the veil of sin was lifted, and true worship and praise were directed toward God. Until someone has accepted Him as their Saviour, it is vain to praise a God in whom someone has not placed their faith. So, I would ask, how can a person who denies God, denies His Son Jesus, denies His free salvation, denies His power, denies His authority, and denies His grace, turn around and truly praise Him?

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

John 4:22a & 23-24 “Ye worship ye know not what: … But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

Thank God today that you can worship and praise Him because the veil of sin has been done away with by our Saviour Jesus Christ. He is our Lord and worthy of all praise.

.

How might you praise Him today?

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Numbers 14:11
And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have showed among them?

THOUGHTS ON GOD’S WORD:

Can you imagine being the CEO in charge of a large group of people? When it came time for raises, you gave them all way more than they deserved. When it came to workload, you made sure it was divided more than evenly so no one had to pull too much of the weight. When it comes to company strength and being solid in your market, you have made sure there is no way that your company can be beaten and in doing so they can be sure their position with this company was secure. Then, after all that you have done to aid in their peace of mind and financial security, when it comes time for you to need them to pitch in a little and help with a project they say, “No way, what have you ever done for me?”

If you can even imagine that for a moment, then can you also imagine God’s disgust with us at times? You see He has blessed us with all spiritual blessings. He has given us no more to do than we can handle and even said, my yoke is easy,” to let us know that He was working alongside us. For security, there is no one more secure than God Himself, who is all-powerful. As believers, we are secure in our position with Him, as He has sealed us with His own Holy Spirit. However, when He tells us in His Word to go, to tell, to love, to help, and to exhort, we sort of look at Him and say, “Why should we do that?”

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

Oh, it is so good to be living under the grace of God. However, should we take that grace for granted? I think Paul said it best in Romans 6:15 when he said, What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.” We should be obedient to all that God calls us to do. Look how much He has done for us.

There is a song that says, Count your many blessings.”
Have you taken time to stop and count some of yours?
