I’m Just Too… PERFECT!

Daily Reading—Psa. 73-77 / Rom. 11

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Romans 9:20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    People today are trying so hard to be something they were not created to be. People complain my ears are too big, my lips are too thin, I’m too fat, or I’m too thin. It is a never-ending cry of, “I’m too something,” that I don’t like. So, let me ask you, who are you comparing yourself to, another person? You were not created to be that person. God created you exactly as He desired.

 

    “Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?” God created you perfect, even with your supposed flaws or disabilities. He loves you as you are. Quit trying to be something other than who God created you to be. Be all you can be for Him.  

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Will you look in the mirror and say, “I’m created too PERFECT to mess God’s creation up”?

My Daddy Is Bigger

Daily Reading—Psa. 69-72 / Rom. 10

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

  Remember the kids saying, “My daddy’s bigger than your daddy”? Children would tell of all the almost superhuman things their daddy could do. Once that child finished, the next one would top it until the stories became outrageous. Some claimed their daddy could lift cars or fly through the air. Just silliness. Or is it?

 

    Romans 8:31 says, “…If God be for us, who can be against us?” As Christians, our Heavenly Father loves us more than we can possibly imagine. No matter how huge our situation or trial is, God is bigger. For Christians, this present world is as bad as it gets for us. Eternity with Him will be so great. Oh, and by the way, my Heavenly Father can lift cars and can fly!

Who, or what, should we fear with God on our side?

Someone’s Knocking

Daily Reading—Psa. 65-68 / Rom. 9

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    How can I know I’m saved? Many people over the years have asked me that question. While there are several answers, and many are correct, I believe Romans 8:16 gives us a very clear answer. It says, “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:” In other words, God will let you know. He knocks at our heart’s door.

    Whenever my children were disobedient, I would discipline them. When they did something well, I would compliment them. The Holy Spirit does much the same thing in our hearts after we receive Christ. When we sin, the Spirit bears witness. He lets us know. When we are good, He also encourages us.  

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

So, has someone been knocking at your heart’s door?

A Child Is Born

AUGUST 15 & 16, 2026
Daily Reading—Psa. 58-64 / Rom. 8

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Romans 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    Time and again, we have seen couples meet, fall in love, marry, and not long after, announce a new life in their home. A child is born from their love and relationship. God’s Word calls this being fruitful. After the flood, God told Noah’s family in Genesis 9:1b… “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.”

    When we accepted Christ as Saviour, we became part of the Bride of Christ. Paul said here in Romans 7:4, we are dead to the law and married to Christ. He then adds, “that we should bring forth fruit unto God.” He is talking about us reproducing ourselves. How? By sharing the gospel with others and winning them to Christ. 

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Shouldn’t our relationship with the Lord also cause us to be fruitful and reproduce?

Still Not Good Enough

Daily Reading—Psa. 52-57 / Rom. 7

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

    I meet people all the time who somehow believe they need to clean up their lives before they can be saved. They think they must quit drinking, smoking, drugs, cussing, or something before God would accept them. Even worse are those who accept Christ as Saviour and then try to work to keep themselves saved. Hey folks, we will never be good enough to be saved.

    What a joy to know that in Romans 5, it says God loved us so much that even while we were still in our sin, Christ died for us. Once we accept Christ, then God begins the cleansing process. I like the fishing analogy I heard for winning people to the Lord. It went, “We catch ‘em, God cleans them.  

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

I am so glad we don’t have to pre-qualify people, aren’t you?
