DECEMBER 8, 2022 – Praying With Confidence

  Praying With Confidence

DECEMBER 8, 2022
Daily Reading – Daniel 11-12 / 1 John 5

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Would you like to know your prayers are going to be answered? Well, the answer for most people would be a resounding, “yes.” Is it possible? The answer again is, “yes.” OK, now you want to know how, right.
The key to praying with confidence is praying things God already wants to do. Verse 14 says “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:” To ask things according to His will, we need to stay in His Word daily, allowing the Holy Spirit to show us His will. Then, when we ask God to do what He already wants to do, he hears us and says, “what a great idea!” When our prayers match the desires of God’s heart, great things happen.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Are you praying with confidence?

DECEMBER 7, 2022 – All Because Of Him

  All Because Of Him

DECEMBER 7, 2022
Daily Reading – Daniel 9-10/ 1 John 4

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

When exactly was it that God fell in love with you? Maybe you are like many of us who were saved later in life. As you look back over your sinful life you must wonder, what about me could God have loved at all? He surely could not have loved my sinfulness.
Some think God began to love them after they asked for forgiveness of sin. That once we are cleansed by the blood, then God begins to love us. Yet, if that were true, if God did not love the sinful you, why would He send Jesus to die for us as sinners? The truth is, God has always loved you. It says in Romans 5:8 “…while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” The reason we can love Him is simply because He first showed His love to us.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Isn’t it good to know that the God who hates sin, has always loved the sinner?

DECEMBER 6, 2022 – I Don’t Feel It

  I Don’t Feel It

DECEMBER 6, 2022
Daily Reading – Daniel 7-8 / 1 John 3

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

1 John 3:19-21 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

I will admit, when I gave my life to God and accepted Jesus as my Saviour, I felt wonderful. The sin and burden in my life was lifted and I was free to live again. I also must admit that since that day, there have been days when I did not feel saved. At times, the Holy Spirit brings to light a part of my life that need to change, which before, I did not realize. When I saw it, I felt unfit and maybe even unsaved. I just did not feel it that day.
How wonderful to know my salvation is not about my feelings, it is about the fact, Jesus died for me. I am saved by faith in Him, not feelings about me. Today’s verse says, “For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart.” God knows if we are saved.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Isn’t it great to know salvation is fact, not feeling?

DECEMBER 5, 2022 – His Mercy Endureth Forever

  His Mercy Endureth Forever

DECEMBER 5, 2022
Daily Reading – Daniel 5-6 / 1 John 1-2

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Throughout the Old Testament we read the phase, “His mercy endureth forever.” However, when we get to the New Testament that stops and we never read the words in that way again. Yet, we still see it.
1 John 1:8-10 describe the mercy of God enduring forever. We cannot say as believers we never sin. If we do, verse 8 says we deceive ourselves. Or verse 10 says we call God a liar. Yet, in verse 9 it says that God will be “faithful and just to forgive us our sins” if we confess we have sinned with a true repentant heart. “Faithful,” means He will always do so. “Just,” means He will treat everyone the same. If that is not the mercy of God enduring forever, I do not know what is.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

How will you treat His enduring mercy?

DECEMBER 3 & 4, 2022 – That’s Not His Desire

That’s Not His Desire

DECEMBER 3 & 4, 2022
Daily Reading – Daniel 3-4 / 2 Peter 3

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

There are many theories in the world today of what the Bible says and means. Some go to great lengths to try to prove their conclusions. However, there is what is called the Golden Rule of Scriptural Interpretation that says, “WHEN THE PLAIN SENSE OF SCRIPTURE MAKES COMMON SENSE, SEEK NO OTHER SENSE.” I just like that. It makes sense.
I find it to be against scripture for someone to tell me that God created some people with the intention of sending them to hell. The last part of 2 Peter 3:9 says the Lord was “…not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” Common sense tells us, “any” means any, and “all” means all. Not that all will, but He wants them all to.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Make sense?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.
