2025 ENDS & 2026 BEGINS IN A MOMENT OF TIME

And just like that, at the stroke of midnight, wherever you are,
2025 will end, and 2026 will begin.
It does not take days or weeks or even minutes.
In fact, it happens in less than a second of time. It just happens. It is a…
MOMENT THAT DOES MATTER

Life is made up of moments—some very small and ordinary, others rather large and life-changing. However, all too often, we rush past these moments without pausing to consider their eternal weight. The devotions that will come on this daily page for 2026 will be taken from our book, “Moments That Matter.”  These devotions were written with the desire to slow us down, even for a few minutes each day, and to draw our thoughts toward the One who gives every moment its meaning.

We live in a world of constant noise, endless demands, and hurried schedules. In the midst of it all, it is easy to overlook the importance of daily time with God. Scripture reminds us in Ephesians 5:16 to “redeem the time, because the days are evil.” Every moment matters, and how we choose to use it shapes both our present walk and our eternal perspective.

You might think of these devotions not as a checklist, but as a reminder. A quiet voice to encourage you in the morning or a gentle reminder at night. Whether you are young in the faith or have walked with Christ for decades, these devotions are meant to draw you closer to Him, one day at a time.

My prayer for you is simple: that “Moments That Matter” will help you treasure the gift of today, deepen your love for God’s Word, and strengthen your walk with the Lord.

Each devotion will be brief—easy to read in a few minutes—yet the truths they contain are meant to stay with you throughout the day. Each devotion is drawn from the New Testament and ends with a question, inviting you to reflect and apply Scripture to your life.

Each devotion includes:

      ● A Scripture verse from the King James Version of the Bible.
      ● A devotional thought drawn from that verse.
      ● A closing question to encourage reflection and application.

You will also find a Bible Reading Schedule provided every day. If followed, this plan will guide you through the entire Bible in one year. Whether you read it in the morning, during lunch, or at the end of the day, this daily rhythm of Scripture and reflection will help you treasure the moments God gives you.

While the devotions are not the inspired Word of God, they are built upon it. Each one will point you back to Scripture—the sure foundation of truth—and to Christ, the center of all hope and joy. My prayer is that as you journey through the days to come, you will not simply read the words that have been written, but experience God’s presence and hear His voice through His Word. May each day’s reading become more than just a habit. May it become a holy pause, a reminder that today—and every day—contain “Moments That Matter,” in the light of eternity.

Each devotion has been written with simplicity and clarity in mind. All Scripture quotations are from the King James Version of the Bible. The author, Dr. Franklin J. Senters, has studied and taught from the KJV for many years and believes it to be the most accurate English translation of God’s Word. While some words may seem old-fashioned, they are rich in meaning and faithful to the truth of the original manuscripts.

Allow me to introduce you to the design of the upcoming 2026 Daily Devotions.

   Revelation 21:5 says:
“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.
And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”

    God said many years ago,

“I make all things new.”

While I understand this passage ultimately refers to eternity to come, the fact remains that every single day God makes things new. A new day, a new week, a new month, and a new year. We cannot change the past, but we do have the ability to make the new days before us count for the glory of God. Each devotion is designed to be just that—a reminder that each new day is a gift from God and that the words of Scripture are always true and always faithful.

     This passage also says,

“Write: for these words are true and faithful.”

While the Lord spoke these words to John, I believe the same principle holds true for all who are called to share His Word. “Moments That Matter” are short devotions from the New Testament for each day of the week. Each devotion begins with a highlighted passage of Scripture for the day, followed by a devotional thought, and ends with a question for you to ponder and carry with you through the day.

It is always my desire to be a blessing to you as you read through God’s Word. However, let’s not forget the phrase that began our passage from Revelation 21:5:

“And he that sat upon the throne said.”

As you go through this year, never forget that He is still seated on His throne in glory—and He must also be seated on the throne of your heart and life.

I hope and pray that you will enjoy this Living In His Word Daily Devotional, “Moments That Matter,” over the coming year. May God richly bless you day by day as you allow Him to speak to your heart. Our desire and ministry motto remain the same:

“Getting People into the Word of God…
…and the Word of God into People.”

One last word before you begin: independent authors greatly benefit from the reviews of their readers. If you have been blessed by this or any of our devotional materials, would you please take a few moments to leave a review on Amazon, where the majority of our books are sold? Click here to go to the review page.  Your kind words and encouragement help others find this devotional and allow us to continue sharing God’s Word.

God bless you, and again—THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Best Money Advice Ever

 DECEMBER 30 & 31, 2023
 DECEMBER 30 – Daily Reading – Malachi / Revelation 22
 DECEMBER 31 – NO READING

 GOD’S WORD:

Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

 GETTING INTO GOD’S WORD:

Money. We see books, financial counselors, and seminars galore on this subject. Yet, the simplest financial advice causes some Christians to cringe. Tithing. A simple word that means a tenth part of something. This means ten percent of your gross earnings should go to God. I know already some of you are mad. But think about this. God lets you keep ninety percent. He could rightfully ask for it all and demand you live totally by faith in Him. Some say that is Old Testament law. Well, so is thou shalt not kill, but you seem to like that one. Thou shalt not steal, does not bother you because that helps you keep your stuff. Getting never seems to upset anyone. It is the giving back that drives them crazy. Do this for me. Take ten bananas, ten oranges, apples, eggs, and carrots and lay nine of each in one pile and one by itself. Now look at these piles. The pile with forty-five items is what God gave you. The little dinky pile with only five items is what he asks you to use to help Him get His message of salvation out to others. Yet, for some reason we want our pile, plus at least God’s banana.

The next problem is where we give it. Some want to divide the tithe among several charities or different ministries. However, that is not what God says to do. It is to be given to the storehouse, the general offerings of your local church. This is not said about the offerings, just the tithe. Offering can be placed anywhere God leads you.

 GETTING GOD’S WORD INTO ME:

Money! It is not evil, but it can be the root of all evil if we do not do things God’s way. God says here, “prove me,” or test me. What does He promise in return? He will pour out blessings from heaven on you. Go ahead, try it. You will like it, I promise.

Have you tried God’s finance plan?

Behold, The True King

 DECEMBER 29, 2023
 Daily Reading – Zechariah 11-14 / Revelation 21

 GOD’S WORD:

Zechariah 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

 GETTING INTO GOD’S WORD:

The people of this world that we live in, have always sought after a god. Some will say there is no God. In doing so, they make themselves out to be their own god. Others look to the stars and science, believing in some way, the study of our solar system, and all that is out there, will give us the understanding we need about our existence. They have made education their god. While many create a god of their own liking. One that might look like them, or that may resemble an animal, or plant that they can see and touch. They create a god in their own image. Then there are the multiple religions created around ancient faulty teachings, or new age cults. Everyone, whether they realize it or not, desires to worship something or someone. Arguments, family divisions, national disputes, and even bloody wars have been the result of these multiple ideas of a god. How great it would be if everyone would realize that there is really only one true God.

That day is coming. Through the prophesies of Zechariah we read, “And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.” The world will speak one pure language according to Zeph. 3:9. God casts out all false idols and beliefs according to Zech. 13:1-2. Finally, His name will be the only name recognized as the eternal King of Kings. The truth of Deut. 6:4 says, “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:”

 GETTING GOD’S WORD INTO ME:

No one needs to wait for the Millennial reign of our Lord Jesus Christ to crown Him King of their life. When we remove the other idols of this world from our life, including self, science, and social idolatry, we can then worship Him as the only Lord in our life.

Is He the King of Kings in your life?

Blessings And Pleasing

 DECEMBER 28, 2023
 Daily Reading – Zechariah 7-10 / Revelation 20

 GOD’S WORD:

Zechariah 8:16-17 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates: And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.

 GETTING INTO GOD’S WORD:

When trying to think of what we as Christians would like to do in the future, pleasing God must be right up there at the top of every list. For the child of God, there is a clear understanding that pleasing God and enjoying a blessed life always go hand in hand. I once read, “if you want to really enjoy your life, find the will of God and just do it.” To investigate the future and not see God there would actually be looking backwards.

So, what can we do in the upcoming months that might be pleasing to God? Looking at today’s text, and remembering, we serve a God who never changes, here are things He told Israel to do as they rebuilt their lives with Him. First, be honest. Just quit living a bunch of lies. If someone asks you a question you do not want to answer, politely decline. Do not make up a lie to make them feel better. Speak the truth in an atmosphere of love and peace. That is the next thing God adds. When telling the truth, use common sense. Does telling a friend you think their dog is ugly help anything? NO. Who knows, you might be wrong. Maybe it is a cute dog, and you have a poor taste in canines. Think about what you say, tell the truth, but with love. Also, do not waste time trying to get even, or making others look bad so you look good. You always look bad doing so. Finally, keep your word. Do not make promises you cannot or will not keep. He ends by saying He hates these things. Making God angry never ends well.

 GETTING GOD’S WORD INTO ME:

Why does God hate these things? Because they violate His love for man, and disrespect Him and His will. When planning your tomorrows, keep in mind what pleases God. Honest, peace loving, trustworthy people. Blessings and pleasing God both go hand in hand.

Are we pleasing to God?

 Daily Reading – Zechariah 4-6 / Revelation 19

 GOD’S WORD:

Zechariah 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

 GETTING INTO GOD’S WORD:

What is the strongest thing in the world? If looking at man, you might say a champion weightlifter or heavyweight boxer. In nature, you may think of hurricanes, volcanoes, or tornadoes. Structurally, steel beams, or cement may have filled your mind’s eye. What we can see by just a few illustrations, to each of us, strength may appear in diverse ways. To one, it is muscle, to some it is devastation, and yet to another, it is construction. While each is correct, let us imagine another type of strength. What strength, or invisible bond holds together your family, marriage, your life, and home? Many think the answer is the love you have for the ones at home. You are right. Others believe it is the time and devotion you give to others. Again, you are right. Yet, some credit the labor contributed to support the lifestyle your family enjoys. And you would be right as well.

It takes love, devotion, and good old-fashioned hard work to make a place you can call home. Still, the strongest part of every home needs to be the Spirit of God indwelling you. He makes your love stronger and deeper than you could ever imagine. He is the controller of all time and gives you a new sense of devotion to others you would never muster up on your own. Also, He can take just a little earned at a workplace and multiply it to fill your home with all you will ever need. The strongest thing in the entire world, is a heart devoted to God.

 GETTING GOD’S WORD INTO ME:

How will you get though the next day of your life? If God was able to whisper in your ear, He might just say, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” That is a life, built to last.

Will you tell God, Thank you Lord,
for your Holy Spirit, today?
