His Crime Was LIFE
JUNE 8, 2026
Daily Reading—2 Kings 20-22 / John 13:18-38
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
John 12:10-11 But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death; Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
As we read in John 12, we find the chief priests thought about killing Lazarus. For what? His crime was the fact that when Jesus called to him to come back to life, he obeyed and came back to life. His crime, therefore, was nothing more than LIVING!
Today, many people do not like Christians. Why is that? It is because when we heard the voice of the Saviour calling to our souls to be saved and receive life, we obeyed the call and received eternal life. Many of us have gone another step beyond. Some of us have tried to help others find REAL LIFE as well. Our greatest crime is loving LIFE.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
If that were the charge against you today, would you be found guilty?
IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:
Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?
Within this reading, do I find a CHALLENGE for my life?
What actions will I take today or this week to meet this CHALLENGE?
