Still Trying To Kill Jesus
JUNE 6 & 7, 2026
Daily Reading—2 Kings 18-19 / John 13:1-17
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
John 11:53 Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
It may be shocking to think that men would get together and plot to kill the very Son of God. Just the thought of it seems wrong. Yet we read that they did.
It may seem even more unimaginable to think men today are still plotting to try to kill Jesus. Maybe not physically, but an assassination just the same. How, you might ask? Well, the Bible says in John 1:1, Jesus was and is the Word of God. Today, we have people everywhere trying to disprove or at least discredit the Word of God. When they do, they are attempting to kill the power of the Word. We know that they will also fail, as the bible says in Luke 21:33, “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.”
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Isn’t it good to know Jesus never fails?
IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:
Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?
Within this reading, do I find a CHALLENGE for my life?
What actions will I take today or this week to meet this CHALLENGE?
WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:
On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in your pastor’s heart. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message. Then, when you get home, reread those passages for today’s reading. God has given your pastor exactly what He desires for you to have on that day.
