Worship God Alone
JULY 10, 2026
Daily Reading—Ezra 8-10 / Acts 12
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
Acts 10:25-26 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
Today, many Evangelists and Preachers have made a name for themselves. We see them on TV, hear them on the radio, and find their books and CDs on the Internet. Most of them have not sought fame. They have simply preached the Word, and man elevated them to this place of recognition. However, they, and we, need to remember who is to be worshiped.
Peter had also become famous for what God had done through him. Yet when Cornelius bowed to him, He said, “I myself also am a man.” There is nothing wrong with showing respect to the man of God who delivers the Word of God. Nevertheless, we must be careful to never worship man and only worship God.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Are you worshiping God only or a man also?
IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:
Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?
Within this reading, do I find a CHALLENGE for my life?
What actions will I take today or this week to meet this CHALLENGE?
