I Am Not Ashamed, Am I?
AUGUST 8 & 9, 2026
Daily Reading—Psa. 27-32 / Rom. 2
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
I have some good news! No, really, I have some really great news. Not ordinary news. Not the kind of news you will see on TV. This is better than the birth of a child news or the “We are getting married” news. This news is life-changing, extraordinary, you will never believe it is possible kind of news. Yet, if I tell you, you might get mad. So, I will just keep it to myself.
You want to strangle someone like that, right? I know I would. Yet, that is how many believers treat the Word of God. It’s the best, life-changing news that ever was or will be. “It is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.” Still, we’re afraid someone might get angry if we tell them. Therefore, we keep it to ourselves.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Are we ashamed of the Gospel?
IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:
Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?
Within this reading, do I find a CHALLENGE for my life?
What actions will I take today or this week to meet this CHALLENGE?
WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:
On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in your pastor’s heart. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home,
reread those passages for today’s reading.
God has given your pastor exactly what He desires for you to have on that day.
