What If They Won’t Listen
AUGUST 5, 2026
Daily Reading—Psa. 11-17 / Acts 28:1-16
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
Acts 27:10-11 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives. Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
Have you ever felt as though you are waving a red flag as hard as you can, and no one is watching? That you try to warn people of death and hell, and they look at you as if you are crazy? Do not feel alone. In today’s passage, Paul tries to warn the people on the ship that he is on that trouble is ahead. Why did they listen to another man’s advice over Paul’s advice? Because they did not believe Paul’s advice came from God.
There are those who will not listen to our message of Christ’s love. They do not believe our advice comes from God. We cannot make them listen or believe. We can, however, make their lives a matter of daily prayer. Never give up on warning those blinded by the world.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
If one listens, isn’t it worth telling them all?
IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:
Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?
Within this reading, do I find a CHALLENGE for my life?
What actions will I take today or this week to meet this CHALLENGE?
