This Little Light Of Mine
JULY 20, 2026
Daily Reading—Esther 5-10 / Acts 17
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
Acts 16:25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
In Acts 16, we find Paul and Silas in a dark and dingy prison. We know it was dark in there because the keeper of the prison in Acts 16:29 “called for a light” before he entered. Yet in the midst of the darkness, there was already a light the jailer did not see. Paul and Silas were praying and singing praises to God, which showed a spiritual light on who God was to them in their darkest situation. The prisoners with Paul and Silas heard them. Soon, the jailer saw that same light.
We, too, are called to be a light in this dark world. No matter how bleak things may seem, we can always find a reason to praise our God in heaven. Let’s be a light for someone else today.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Do I hear you singing?
“This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine.”
IF YOU ARE JOURNALING:
Ask yourself, what are MY THOUGHTS concerning this passage and today’s devotion?
Within this reading, do I find a CHALLENGE for my life?
What actions will I take today or this week to meet this CHALLENGE?
