The Seed

Daily Reading—Joshua 15-17 / Luke 8:41-56
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
It is that time of year when people begin to plan what their garden and landscaping will look like. At least that’s what we hope it will look like. Once we plan, we then must plant the seeds. However, you cannot just plant any seeds and hope to grow a daisy. You must purchase daisy seeds, put them in good soil, and plant them as instructed in order to grow healthy daisies.
Many people today believe that people are just going to somehow get saved. That they will somehow go to heaven when they die. However, if you want to see the life of Christ in a person, you need to first plant the right seed. Our verse today says the seed that Jesus spoke of, which brought about real eternal life, is the Word of God. Some things never change. God’s Word is one of them.
