Daily Reading – Psalms 79-81 / 1 Corinthians 1:1-17
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
1 Corinthians 1:3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
In Paul’s letters to the churches, we find a common thread in his greetings. He opens with grace first, followed by peace. For example, 1 Corinthians 1:3 “Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.” This is not a just a habit in grammar for Paul. It’s his belief in the truth.
Paul also wrote Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” You see, without God’s grace there would be no salvation. Without salvation, there can be no lasting peace. Grace must always come first before any real peace.
WHAT DO YOU SAY:
Isn’t God’s grace amazing?
