When Ridiculed, Rejoice

July 1
Daily Reading – 2 Chronicles 13-16 / Acts 5:29-42

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 5:41-42 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

If you were to pick the number one reason why people don’t go soul winning or share their faith what might it be? Lack of time? Well that’s really an excuse more than a reason. People find time to do anything they really want to do. Lack of finances? Probably not as it costs nothing to share your faith. Well, nothing except your ego. The main reason people don’t share Christ is the thought of being ridiculed for their faith.

Rejoice! What a great crowd you’ve joined if you’re ever ridiculed. It happened to Jesus, the Disciples, and many others. In Acts 5:41-42 it tell us how to react to such ridicule. Rejoice to be worthy first of all, then, just keep sharing.

WHAT DO YOU SAY:

Isn’t the soul of those you do reach
worth the enduring a few who may poke fun?
